it's hot.

so i've heard that denmark has a summer. i've never actually experienced one. but i think it arrived this week. oivey!
we've got three fans going. but with no ac it's more just a warm air blower. phew.

i found a few shots from our day in the city last month. some turned out quite nice. the quality had to be reduced for xangawanga.

oh and if any of you are mac geniuses... my sound has completely disappeared from my macbook. no sound icon at the top. no input or output.
i'd hate to have to turn it in for who knows how long. bad timing. bleh.

thanks for all of your nice comments!

good days

 here's to good days
CPHJazz

i got to spend a week in the western part of our island in a small town called fårevejle.
every morning i got to teach a group of young adults. it was awesome. i went away with new friends and new hope.

in a few days dawn and i will go even further west, to the mainland of denmark for another summer family camp.
i'll get to teach a much larger group on three consecutive evenings. while we do not have any idea where we will live
in these next coming months (as we still have not found an apartment) we are happy to be busy doing the things we love.

for the most part, the weather has been good to us this last week. in copenhagen the anual jazz festival has been going on
in venues throughout the city. just around the corner from our place there have been a few bands. sunshine, jazz, happy people,
and cold drinks. these are the good days.

heres a shot of the group
fårevejle group-

and a shot from the last of four trains it took to get there
fårevejletrain

now im planning for another camp later in the week. it should be interesting. i wonder how everyone's summer is going?

baby beluga

it's been a long time since my last post. nothing really that tops the news of the coming baby!
we are back in denmark now after a short visit with family in chicago. it was really good to see them!

today i am at a lutheran camp in western sjaelland. it's pretty peaceful here. i am teaching in the morning and studying in the evening.
i hope to get some progress done on my thesis!

anyways, of course i have taken loads of photos but the length in time warrants something substantial. which i just do not have time to find.
so instead a picture of the beluga whales. i love them! i loved the shedd aquarium!

i think if i could have a profession outside of the clergy or the arts it would be with animals. either primates or large fish/mammals : )

peace to you.

oh and if you haven't seen the movie kite runner go and watch it. a beautiful story!
