i know you haven't made your mind up

oh CHRIST i'm mad hormonal! hear me roar! it's like waking the cracken. i'm just FURIOUS! sort of. anyway, i fucking HATED the weather today. it was sticky and ghastly. i don't want the Earth's atmosphere to wrap me in clingfilm. i wish it was still cold, so i could drink whiskey in the snow & wear my brand new leopard print coat.

today's been a day of panico, followed by long consideration and rationalising, then TALKING and TALKING and TALKING about it for ages. Sandwich and Head of Music have both had the treatment. the guys at XL narrowly avoided it. i bought Party Rings, that helped me stop my gob for a while.

why am i being such a stroppy tart? things are going swimmingly well, on the whole. it's honestly just because i've got beastly hormones, and am quite tired. otherwise, i feel quite jolly.

i finally did it- i graduated. i still worry now that i won't, because of some god-forsaken activity i may have partaken in while aged nineteen. or something. i don't know what gets you banned from graduation. money, or a lack thereof, was nearly my downfall. i eventually paid up. anyway, Graduation itself was smashing- i spent the week living at Head of Music's. oddly, none of the Boys were there- it was myself & Peebles. honestly, it was killer-diller. we amused ourselves by pretending we were Truman Capote and Harper Lee. we sat up all night laughing about things and talking for ages. He graduated on Tuesday morning and i nearly wept with pride (he looked bloody smart in shirt & tie). mine was at 4. the weather was lovely.
i went to meet Sandwich outside the main building, then my parents, who gave me a huge bunch of flowers bless them. i loved wearing the gown & weird hat. i liked knowing i was an undergraduate for a few more hours. i liked that i knew this was entirely for the parents. and of course for RH to make a stab for more money. the principle's speech was odd. he talked about the Olympics a lot. it was smashing to see everyone again as well. i wore Ugg boots to collect my scroll- the principle looked at them, and then looked at me. i smiled a bit. i mouthed hello mate at one of my proffessors, he smiled. i've posted him a card to say thankyou for being a cracking tutor. once we'd Officially Graduated, me & Sandwich enjoyed the champagne in the Quad. it was lovely indeed. my parents went home, and gave me a really smart new camera to say well done, which i am insanely grateful for. it is GORGEOUS.
that night, Sandwich, Peebles, myself and one of the lads who actually lives with Head of Music, went to a party. it was insane, and we had the best night. absolutely smashing it was. i got wrecked. i was meant to go to XL the next day. that did not happen. everyone was really nice & understanding, and when i did eventually make it on Thursday i brought biscuits. went to another party on Thursday as well, and made it to work the next day because i'm an absolute don. that was awesome.
unfortunately the last night of graduation week was a bit shit, but other than that an absolutely beautiful week. i miss Peebles pretty much every twenty minutes. it's a bummer.

i then did a week of work experience with The Guardian which was SO fun. i was exhausted every day, but made time in the evening to visit pals and go for long trips to Hyde Park. it was smashing. met some absolutely marvellous people. went for drinks with my super cool XL intern crew on the Friday, having already drunk a glass of champagne. lovely stuff.

then! spent the weekend with Head of Music, on his triumphant return. after a MONTH. he came to meet me after midnight- my train came in & he was wearing pyjamas. beautiful! we faffed around all weekend, eating enormous breakfasts and sitting about in the park. so, so lovely.

this week so far, apart from my slightly explosive mood, has been very subdued. gone into XL every day except Monday. i made tea for the lovely Adele the other day. she seems absolutely wicked. and she has these amazing sparkly red shoes. i can't stop listening to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jpzBEiARaE it's the first time a cover has actually trounced Dylan. and trouncing Dylan is pretty much impossible. i wish i could sing like Adele. my impressions of Duffy & Winehouse make my brother laugh. he does the most hilarious Dylan. but who doesn't?

i finished reading Howl by Ginsberg this week. it was great. took me forever to get my head around. it came in a collection of some of his other stuff. i liked America. hey, that was killer. i'm going to start reading a biography of Byron next week.

tomorrow i'm hanging about with Boot & Sandwich. i'm very excited. but now- i'm exhausted. genuinely. which is pretty cool.

dandy on the Underground

i've spent a lot of this week travelling about London. to Old Street for Vice on Monday, and Ladbroke Grove for XL Tues & Thurs. I went to Great Pulteney Street in a taxi on Tuesday evening, with twenty crates of beer in the back. i ate chocolate & freaked out to an extent. later that evening, I got the tube back to Putney Bridge, then to the TCR to meet The Best Friend (more on that later for some reason). then i stayed in bed until 4pm when i got the tube back to Putney Bridge. then on Wednesday i went to Islington, then to Turnpike Lane, then back to Ladbroke Grove. today i'm going back to Islington.

while i was cleaning out Falaise (which already seems an age ago) i came across loads of my diaries. I leafed through one or two, and one of the bits that made me laugh (and is printable) was me berating myself for "this Dashiell Hammett smackhead look" i was cultivating. that made me chuckle.

currently, i CAN NOT STOP listening to Elevator by Flo Rida & Timbaland. I put it on by accident yesterday while going for an evening walk (i walked to Barnes, got bitten by a weird bug) and just haven't turned it off since. i think it's because it doesn't seem to make any sense; it's got like fifteen different bits, and sometimes they all go on at once. also, it's SO Timbaland-By-Numbers- which, if i'm honest, i like.

anyway, i also had an afternoon wander. on my afternoon walkabout yesterday, I rang Boot. i think the sun got to my head, I was acting really weird when he called back. sorry about that, Boot. i have no idea why. it could be due to the stress of my dress being constantly blown around by the wind. boo. anyway- my walk was fantastic. i went all over Putney, a bit of Barnes & Fulham, and a quick dash into S. Ken. didn't manage to get many good snaps, but whatev. bought myself a bit of stuff. very nice black headphones, a ton of newspapers & magazines, a Starbucks lunch and SuperBad on DVD. went to a few clothes shops but can't find anything i like more than the stuff i've already got. it's soo nice having moolah at the moment.

i've recently set up http://www.flickr.com/photos/estdonnelly/ and it's soo fun.

(i don't know why i ever look at PostSecret anymore. it annoys me SO much)

what a good week i've had. it seemed to go on for a long time. on Monday, i had a fun day at Vice. i'm not going in tomorrow unfortunately, but i will be working all day on articles. and an interview with some psychics, over the phone. they asked when i was going to call them. i should have asked them when i was going to call them (hur hur). anyway, monday was tiring but fun. i'm still such a nervous person at times. on Tuesday, i had a smashing day at XL. helped out with the Cool Kids instore performance, which was fucking mint. had a beer and stood outside (caught a glimpse of M.I.A. omgz!!) for a while. was really fun. got a text from The Best Friend asking about Panic that evening, so i went to the TCR and met her there. it was a quality night out. got absolutely wired with my favourite marra, that was cracking. danced to Bob Dylan as well, wahey. missed Head of Music terribly, which was no fun AT ALL. i'm so jealous of his travels.

so i stayed in bed the next day, because we'd got in at 5am. later that day. i went to Islington with The Best Friend to a night put on by some guys from XL. it was quality. i was exhausted.

i'm looking forward to next going into XL. hopefully there will be a copy of the new Friendly Fires album knocking about that i can listen to. i'm properly obsessed with them.

i'm reading a book at the moment (the first time i've been into a shop to buy a book for tiiiime, son.) called Dandy In The Underworld by Sebastian Horsely. it's an 'unauthorised autobiography,' that made me laugh too much. it is fucking hilarious. i don't think i'd like to emulate Sebastian very much. but i do admire him. he's like a noncuddly Russell Brand.

i'm rather excited- got a bit of a trip to Egham necessaire. got to work out my entry for best female for SRA, and then of coruse find somewhere to stay for Graduation. eeshk.

ooooh another thing i've been doing all week (i seem to be developing all these fixations & projects. it's to keep my mind off the fact that i've got THREE WEEKS before i see Head of Music again. BAH!) is watching Criminal Justice. find it on BBC iPlayer. it's INCREDIBLE. i'm genuinely fascinated by Ben Whishaw. he's beautiful & doesn't seem human. i really want to watch that picture Perfume, because the book is quality. i also really want to get There Will Be Blood and I'm Not There on DVD. aren't i arthouse? no. the last DVD i bought was SuperBad.

Doctor Who last night. i was mega excited about it, as in MEGA SQUEEE. to be honest, i didn't love hte last episode. i thought Donna's ending was a mega cop-out, really disrespectful to Catherine Tate after all her hard work. it's incredible- i genuinely despise all of CT's work pre-Doctor Who (can't believe i just wrote that phrase) but now i adore her for what she did as Donna. and Billie's managed to cock up all the excitingness & intrigue of Rose's previous charcter, in two quick episodes. i really can't stand Rose unless it's with Christopher Eccleston.

falalalaaaa what to do now? watch Eastenders. Gemma Bisix is the WORST actor on earth. maybe i'll eat another Weetabix. i'm excited about Islington with The Gent tonight. might go to Hyde Park first, if the weather clears up. the wind is the wind is in my heart...

space & the woods,

...still don't know who i am.

my love of Late Of The Pier, i must say, has been superseded by my new obsession with The Cool Kids. got their new LP from work (it's called The Bake Sale. makes me smile & want BAKEY BAKEY GOODS. OMG!), and it's bloody brilliant. one tune called Basement Party really reminds me of being 15 and going to, funnily enough, basement parties.

"if you ain't got no money take yo broke ass home..." that's from the tune. i need some moolah.

anyway- i'm now in Putney. i have, officially, moved out of Falaise forever. Falaise Forever. it's been good. my last day there was great- i had my breakfast, finished my packing, watched Alan Partridge.
I wandered through the garden. Remembered so many things to the extent that I saw them unfold in front of me: there I was in a hurriedly put on dress, sitting on a creaking wooden table with a shaggy-haired blonde in the green darkness; dancing with Peebles in the rain; sitting on the patio bit, having pizza picnics at midnight; arguing in a blazing midday sun; kissing Head of Music all the time all the time. walking around the house was good too. so glad i can see my mistakes now; i know where i've gone wrong. just so much stuff. two years! not much at all. i'm looking forward to graduation week (must find somewhere to stay) and seeing everyone again. and it's funny not having anywhere to go back to; i kept thinking, oh i'll leave these matches here. but i had to take them with me. nowhere to retreat to.

still, i can always enjoy a jaunt to Hyde Park. being here in London is pretty cool. TV, lots of food, our glorious capital in the vicinity. and my new house is siiiiiiiiick. another really nice thing is not having to get up at 6am to go to work, and spend £19 on getting there. i found an Oyster card in the crust of my room whilst packing up last night, boo-urns bonus or what.

an unfortunate turn of events yesterday, however, was that i had a killer migraine and had to lie down for ages. felt sick as a fucking dog. by the time my Dad picked me up i was sweating like no-one's business. yeeshk! but i'd promised Boot i'd help him with some filming, so had to stick to that. we got held up in the traffic so i was getting stressed by my poor time-keeping. always the way eh. anyway; i eventually got back, ate a fried-egg sandwich and put some clothes on. oh, i also had an aspirin for the first time in like four years, which did help. felt much, much better by the time i got on the tube, and to be honest any ailment (minor ones i mean, like my stinking migraine) can be cured by a walk around Belsize Park, where Boot lives. oh boy what a city!

i am seriously enjoying watching the Eastenders omnibus at the moment. i need to start work on some articles (did i mention the Whitesnake thing on Thursday? it was hilarious) but i only woke up two hours ago so i'm taking things sloooowaaah. i think i'll have another coffee, play some Sims 2 (nerd), maybe have a little bath. mmmhmm.

oh and OMG DOCTOR WHO! i cried the whole time Sarah-Jane was on, i love her lots & lots.
if you haven't watched it yet, then just bloody do!

i miss Head of Music desperately. he's still on his lovely travels, was in Paris last night. one day, we're gonna live, in Paris...that said, our plan is to move to America eventually. it's up to you....

i feel confused, occasionally morose. but excited. i am adjusting...regenerating!

this is ground control

i'm communicating to the world, this is my last night in Falaise. feels urgent.

just had a drink in the pub (when i really should have been packing up my stuff) with Peebles & A Boy Named, which was absolutely lovely. we danced in Budgens and then they both came back to Falaise; we sat in the front room for ages. now it's nearly 2am and i must sleep. what a crazy couple of days i've had- more info to follow.

anyway- packing my stuff up has been fun. Falaise, I'll miss you. the dirt, the wet, this house has got an infectious laugh. all those heaving parties. all the girls standing in the line for the bathroom. sitting up. Simpsons. more to follow when i can get my head straight. so nice to sit here though, what a great time i've had.

by the way, this http://www.asofterworld.com/ shits on everything (including bloody PostSecret.)

anyway- i'm exhausted. muchlove,
