| | Today I ate almost one whole packet of SNYDER'S of HANOVER Pretzel pieces in Honey Mustard and Onion.

YES! This is the exact thing that I ate. I have to confess that being the idiot that I am, I mistook the 481kcal per 100g on the package for 481kj, which translates to approximately less than 200 calories per pack. I was snacking halfway, trying to figure out how the hell this package of delicious pretzels full of carbs and INTENSE! flavour and satisfaction could possibly be only 200 calories, when I decided to read the nutrition label again. And I confirmed my own suspicion. What to do, never mind! Back to my minestrone-style-tomato-based vegetable soup again tomorrow! That soup is yum yum and probably gives me more satisfaction than a packet of flavoured carbs! Oh, I cheat and throw in 2 pieces of my favourite cheese tofu into the soup. Heh. Why take the fun out of dieting by leaving out the cheese tofu? It doesnt make sense!
What did I eat today?
Having already decided halfway through my sleep that I would take a cab to work today, I woke up at 11.45am, talked to Aegon for a bit, got ready for work, grabbed a cereal bar and zoomed I went out the door. So, my diet went like this:
Breakfast and Lunch@ 12.15pm 1 Nice & Natural cinnamon and apple + chocolate base bar (100kcal)
Reached airport at around 12.50pm, flights fulllllll. No time to eat and not hungry.
Dinner @6.30pm 1 serving of green beans/ brinjal/ kong bao chicken pieces from the economical rice stall (350 calories) No rice of course I can coffee (130kcal)
Snack 3/4 packet of Snyder's of Hanover Honey Mustard & Onion Pretzel Pieces (400kcal) 2 glasses unsweetened promegranate juice (184kcal)
See how junkfood kills your diet? And of course.. this is not a healthy way to eat. What I normally have on days when I have enough sleep is this:
Breakfast: 1 cereal bar or cheese on crackers (100kcal) 1 cup unsweetened soya milk (90kcal)
Lunch: 1 bowl homemade vegetable soup (slow cooked with celery/ carrots/ onions/ green beans/ stewed tomatoes/ cabbage/ brocolli/ cauliflower-- yes I eat ALOT of vegetables) (200-300kcal) 2 cheese tofu pieces (I said I cheat) (I dont wish to know how many calories because I will eat them anyway)
Dinner: 3 vegetable dishes from economical rice stall OR 1 Mr. Bean tuna/cheese pancake + unsweetened soya milk (the Mr. Bean stall is located just down the escalator from my office. this is my reason for not following my strict diet! about 300kcal)
Sometimes when I am hungry in the late morning or early afternoon I snack on almonds which are high in fat and calories.. 1 packet about 200+ to 300kcal but almonds are full of protein which can stave off hunger pangs as energy is slowly released throughout the day, and they can increase your metabolism which will in turn help you burn fats.
So today.. diet.. foiled! Michelle and Karen were just telling me the other day on separate occasions they hope I dont get anorexia, being afraid to eat and such. I dont think that will ever happen to me. I sometimes cheat like nobody's business and I love to snack. The only difference is that it used to be on chocolates and cookies and now it is on almonds, cheese and fruits (ya la, also on pretzel pieces). And I am still enjoying what I eat! I dont lose alot of weight now as compared to when my diet was reallllly strict, but that is ok! I will never be anorexic.. I am just waiting for the day I can eat kfc again! |
