| Meeting DanielOh boy! Well I was ok on the way there until Dallas said we were there already an hour early, then it hit me! I was sooo nervous and anxious. It was the moment I have been waiting for so long, since I was married 5 yrs ago. We arrived and he was sleeping. He woke up early that morning off schedule & fell back asleep 30 min b4 we arrived. So they said come on lets go see him. When I walked in there & saw him sleeping on the bed, he was sooooo precious. I got close to him rubbed his back, head, and neck. I was taking him all in, taking the moment all in. He opened his eyes and I said Hey baby, ever so sweetly and he did the most amazing shocking thing next that I didn't expect, but wanted to happen. He REACHED FOR ME TO HOLD HIM! That was it I scooped him up & began crying and rocking him. I can't stop crying typing this. It was a dream come true!!!! Everyone couldn't believe that he just came to me. It was AMAZING!!!!! Dallas was even all teary eyed. From then on he played and interacted with us like he knew us all along. When we went to the park I remember I took him down the slide, then I let Dallas play with him awhile, and he came over to the picnic table & grabbed my hand & took me back to the slide. He is soooo awesome! His personality is just precious, unique, and funny. He reminds me of Dallas, we now know even more why we were chosen for this child. He completes us. The next day we got all day visitation which was a suprise to us. We thought we had to stay at the foster home most of the time, but we got to take him out all day. We weren't prepared b/c I didn't want to pack many toys, stroller, and essentials to get my hopes up. I just packed a few things. We had the best day, he ran back and forth to both of us wanting for us to pick him up. We took him back to our room at the hotel & I remember going to talk on the phone for a moment & sat on the couch for a minute. When I came back we was crying for me to pick him up, like where have you been, where did you go? SOOO SWEET! We just spent time hangin out with him, he fed me cookies, lol! When we took him back I was a mess Saturday night. That was so hard. We went out to eat to Papasitos & Dallas was in line at the bar while we were waiting for a table. I found one empty at the bar, I was sitting by myself his pacifer in my hand, and waitress walked up to me & asked if needed a drink. By the looks of me, I'd ask someone that too! My face was red blotchy tears just streaming down my face & said yes a BIG one! LOL! Those that know me well know that I don't cry in public much less in front of people, but I would try & try to compose myself, it just wasn't happening, I just couldn't stop. So I downed to tall Rum & cokes, and felt little better. So Sunday morning we went and picked him up. We took him to the mall & he bought his couisin Mikey some outfits for his B-day. He also picked out a toy for himself =) We took him to eat Luby's, b/c that's all that was around. After that it was time to take him back, he fell asleep on the way there. Dallas carried him in & layed him on the bed. I took his shoes off & kissed him goodbye until this coming weekend when we get to drive back & pick him up. He may stay home with us for good, it all depends if the Dr gets his report typed up on his Developmental Assesment by Friday the 15th. He has an aptt on Wednesday, so everyone pray that the report will be ready & sent back to his worker so we can finalize placement by Tuesday of next week. Otherwise we have to drive him back on Monday the 18th, and try to do placement the following weekend. I don't want to put him through back & forth from Houston to Fort worth & so on. Also his Foster Mom wants him to stay with us, b/c she's preparing her goodbye all week this week. She doesn't want to tell him bye all over again. That's difficult on her too. So pray for her & the other family members that are close to him. Especially pray for my little boy! |
In the beginning 2 wks he slept with us & woke up around 4-5 am. Sometimes it took awhile to get him back down. Now he sleeps in his own bed, and through the night. We rock & sing every night. 
I'm so excited & nervous. We will travel to Houston to visit him in his foster home and stay in a Hotel until Sunday. We get to take him out for small visits, and we will have to leave him there on Sunday, and they'll bring him to us hopefully the following weekend to Fort Worth stay all weekend in our home, then we will have to return him to his foster home in Houston.
Then placement will follow soon after. I'm not sure of the dates yet. I know it's going to be bittersweet b/c he's so attached to his foster family as they are to him. We have decided to an open adoption with his foster family, because he has been with them since he was 10 days old. I'm so thankful they took such loving care of him, instead of being placed in multiple foster homes. I have will plenty of pictures to share with him in his lifebook. My caseworker is sending our lifebook down with pictures of us and the dogs, and his g-parents & so forth. His foster Mom is going to read & show it to him so he can get use to our faces b4 we meet. 
I can't wait to hold & rock him!
