Is anyone else anticipating Sommer's funny-ass Cinco de Mayo pictures?
    They are always entertaining!

  • Golf 002

It's finally gone.  Our broken down burden that we've been carrying since June.
We sold it for what we owed and I am so thankful!
It was bittersweet seeing is towed away from the house
    - it was a fun car when it ran.

    Goodbye Golf.

Sitting around doing nothing is a lot more difficult than it sounds.  This is my fifth day of keeping my life low key so that I can recover.  It feels like it has been two weeks already.  I can say that I am doing a lot of reading and napping and watching of movies.  This week's movies are Pride and Prejudice (new version) and Dan In Real Life.  I've seen them twice already.  When a movie is really great I love to watch it in the evening and then wake up for a reprise.  Good soundtracks will make me fall in love with a movie.

My current music to buy list:

Sondre Lerche and the Faces Down Quartet, Duper Sessions
    Glen Hansard, The Swell Season
    Van Morrison, Keep It Simple
The Black Keys, Attack and Release

Well since Roy spilled the beans, I feel you should hear it from me.

    I have mono.

We're back to the ugly green background again...

I'm beginning to feel better today...the cloud is lifting and I'm beginning to breathe again. Thank God.

This weekend is supposed to be beautiful and I want to get my hands dirty in the garden.  I think I'm going to buy mulch and plants...maybe new grass.

Our lawn is kind of a joke at our house.  It's a scary patch work of weeds really.  Matt mowed the lawn last night and I fed what remained.  I felt inspired to start a burn pile and ignite it.  It felt good to burn off all the clippings and pulled weeds that I have been slowly accumulating over the past few weeks.  Also, I picked up and burned most of the wood that used to be in a neat pile against the side of the house. (The dogs decided long ago that they liked the wood better strewn ALL over their dogyard instead.)  It was a BIG fire...I was concerned that the neighbors may turn me into the fire department.  Luckily not, and I was able to enjoy a breezy night in a freshly mowed lawn next to a fire.

I think I may burn our shed down this weekend too.  It's a wreck...it leaks, it attracts big bugs, it smells, it's dark, wet and scary.  I want to demo it and burn the remains.  I guess I'm in a refining mood.

This album takes me away. Listen to it through your headphones and fully relax. Trust me, you'll find your thoughts drifting to other places.

I have been sickly.  And to show you just how sick, I decided to give a disgusting green as my background to this post.  This is the color that pneumonia makes me feel.

Pray I mend quickly....I'm on my third week now and I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Have you ever had to clean red hot Jello off of every shelf, bowl, condiment, vegetable, egg, butter, pitcher, drawer, wall, floor, nook and cranny in your refrigerator at 4:45 a.m. in the morning?

    I have.

It takes way too long and I wouldn't recommend it.

    : :  EDIT : :

I had about 10 minutes to spare before I headed to the gym yesterday morning, so I decided to make some jello for my lunch.  As I am transporting the container to the fridge I fumble and lose control of the bowl sending the gelatin airborne.  It almost instantly congealed EVERYWHERE.  Needless to say, I never made it to the gym and was actually late for work because of it.

     - This morning -
When I put on my shoes I discovered that they too were covered in little specks of red jello. Neat.

I've had a week from allergy hell.  Yes, there is a hell for such a thing.
Congestion, pressure, sore throat, cough, and - added to the list this morning - migraines.  oh joy.

Cara is a wonderful sister.  She came over to help me with some thorough spring cleaning.  I love a clean house; it really does help me psychologically.

I've been waking up at 4:30 a.m. to go to the gym.  And the scary part is that I'm getting used to it now.  I am still sleepy in the mornings, but the rest of my day has improved greatly because of this new routine.  It's great to have a sense of accomplishment every day.

My St. Lucia trip may be a realization this year.  I've pretty much accepted the fact that I plan my life around which vacation I can take next and how I can find the funds to make such trips.  It is definitely a passion of mine to see the world.  Now how can I make a career of it?

Josh is arriving today from California. So if you want to see his shining face give us a call!

I had a great time for my birthday this year.  Thank you to everyone who made me feel special on my day.  I felt loved.
