In Loving Memory

This past week we lost Rodney's parents. It was incredibly unexpected and it has been difficult to say the least. The memorial will be Saturday morning so if you think of us then and want to say a prayer or wish us good thoughts (whatever you're into), we'd certainly appreciate it. Thanks.

Puppy Love

puppy1

Her cuteness is undeniable. More pics are up so take a look. Her name is Tasha and she is a white shepard mix. Rodney and I got her from the shelter. We went "just to look" but in the end we couldn't leave without her. She's almost 2 so I guess she's not really a puppy but she still acts puppy-like sometimes. She has a lot of energy and loves to run and play but is just as content to lay on the floor near whoever is home. She knows some basic commands (she already knew "sit", we tested that at the shelter) and we are teaching her some others. She seems to be a quick learner. We are all getting to learn each others routine, even the cat is realizing that she is something he's just gonna have to deal with.

Well, I have to go wake her up to walk her before bed. She's passed out from a long night of playing. Must be rough.

An attention whore... and a new nemisis

My cat, who is infamous for demanding attention, has decided that he must have it from me 24/7. Therefore, he is currently sitting on my lap requring me to reach over him to type. He only gets up to eat or when I boot him off for one reason or another, which he makes clear he does not appreciate me doing. At that point, he must follow me around the house meowing pitifully until I stop to pet him. The moment I sit down again, he's immediatly right back in my lap. I've never met a cat who wanted so much attention. I thought cats were supposed to be all independent and stuff. Oh well, fortunatly for him, he's like, the cutest cat ever and he keeps me company while Rodney's at work.

spikey

Wouldn'tcha know it, just as I finally beat those cherries into submisson (ie- I gave in and ate them all), Rodney brought home two boxes of Girl Scout cookies - chocolate peanut butter and chocolate mint, my two favorite kinds. Phfff!  This can go nowhere good...

Chocolate covered cherries and Diet Cola

I have eaten half a box of chocolate covered cherries in 2 days. I didn't mean to, but I couldn't help it. They were just there, in the fridge, taunting me. I knew I shouldn't do it, but I was somehow powerless to resist so I've been chasing them with warm Diet Cola (only warm because I've been too lazy to put them in the fridge). But it's ok, they counteract each other - at least that's what I'm telling myself. Really it just sounded like a good combo. At any rate, the cherries are gone now. They can't torment me anymore...
