New CD!

Cross Products is releasing a new CD soon, "What Am I Waiting For," featuring us, the MIT Cross Products =p It includes a lot of songs, including What I've Done by Linkin Park, and a song written by an alum, Kathy Hwang. To order it, visit this page :)

So SGBIS is coming up, and Break It Down Boston... should be interesting ^^
No one reads this page, right? So they won't mind if I test out Google's search engine thingy? :P ^^;;

MIT Cross Products The Cross Products are the most "normal" co-ed Christian a cappella group at MIT. We exist to glorify God through music and our lives, and to tell others about the ways that He has changed us. We are each products of the cross of Jesus Christ!

6.370 was fun ^^ The xprod team came in first in the technical writeup of the strategy, and in best formation. Which was slightly amusing, because it took JR about 2-3 hours to write up the paper while playing Munchkin (and we won too, after he told me to use the Wand of... Delving? to pull out the Divine Intervention card and boost both our clerics to level 10) and the team most of the time to work out the formation and moving it, etc. So... yeah :D But very cool. And Lawrence's team (Georgian Noobs) came in 3rd and Albert & Jame's team (CTU Cambridge) came in 5th. So all in all, a very nice night for them ^^

It's a silly thing to feel excluded by the awards ceremony. But what can I say. It was just another reminder of separation, of not being part of the team. But it was awesome, especially 'cause they spent so much time on it and it was just because of bugs & a lack of time. But.. yeah, it was cool ^^ And I got to spend all the time with them and hung out after the 6.370 submission deadline (that was the Munchkin session), so that was well worth it ^^ :D But yeah, I think that if anyone asks me what I did during IAP, I should tell them 2.670 and UROPping, 'cause that sounds a lot more impressive than saying I was a tagalong in 6.370 and honed my Spider Solitaire skills :P But I did go from like a 8% rating last year to about a 20% rating this year to a 24-5% rating by the end of 6.370 :D So well worth it, in my opinion ^^;;

My room's window is letting in the wind, and it's right next to my bed, and it's pretty windy right now. I'm using a tablecloth both to block the light from that window and to try to plug it up a bit. It's not a great fix though. Sigh.

Post-mystery hunt

Well, the MIT mystery hunt is over. It was ridiculous at times. But the puzzles were fun :D
One of my favorites:
http://web.mit.edu/puzzle/www/07/puzzles/one_two_three_shoot/

So we got answers for all the nouns, then we counted up the wins and ranked them, then we used their number of wins to figure out which letter to pick (ie if the noun was 'Garfield' and the team had 4 winds, we'd choose 'f'). So we got "Mix peony with fias." An anagram we found of that were "a fine posy," but that didn't make sense. Then we tried retallying the wins, and messing around with it... but yeah, so it turns out one of our nouns was wrong, and it should have been 'trivial pursuit' instead of 'mastermind.' Ah well :P But that was a fun one ^^

Now recuperating from my lack of sleep...
