1-27-07 (written)
D.V. Gulla- by the mercy of God.
1 Chronicles 28:6
“Now He said to me,
‘It is your son Solomon
who shall build My house
and My courts;
for I have chosen him
to be My son,
and I will be his Father.’”
A man who will build His house that is to say the house of
the Lord Jesus Christ of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. If you desire to
serve the Lord and He tells you not that you are not the one to fill a certain
job, then don’t try to.
Now can the Lord use a sinner for His will? Does the Lord
lead and Walk with sinners? Well in verses 1-3 we see David “had a heart to
build a house for the Lord” yet he admits “but God said unto me, thou shalt not
build a house for my name”
We see the Lord having communion with David a sinner fallen
short of the grace of God, fallen, yet walking with the Lord. If you are
walking with the Lord don’t think you don’t have sin that needs repentance. Yes
you have forgiveness but sin is not a game, therefore why do you play with it?
Take heed lest you fall with the heathen, or even worse be confused as a
heathen, but being a child of God. Why is it worse to be confused? Following
sinners and walking around with a callused conscience and an unnoticed
darkness; not knowing from what you’ve been saved.
Ephesians 1:13 “In whom ye also
trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel
of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye
were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.”
Praise the Lord that when we believe and are saved, we are
sealed, otherwise I would have fallen out, all of us would. When we are saved,
we still experience sin, and God still loves us and will use us. But take heed
lest you become like David and have the blood of another on your hands, you
might be stricken from a ministry you “had a heart for”.
Christ tells us in Luke 12:5 “But I forewarn you whom ye
shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hat power to cast into hell:
yea, I say unto you, Fear him.” These are words of the Lord spoken to whom, the
disciples, followers of Him and His father. So then what should we do, being
saved with the holy grace of God? Look to the Lord and count on Him for all
things, that is the one thing that will keep you from sin, is recognizing who
God is and that you cannot prevent sin without Him. The only one who never
sinned is Christ, therefore why do we feel that we can stay from sin without
abiding in Him? We cannot, and yes we will sin and yes we will fall short, if
we didn’t there wouldn’t be a point to the crucifixion, but we are NOT in
bondage to sin.
Unless you desire sin, the Lord is warning you that there
are those who wish to cast you into the pits of hell, that you would not follow
the Lord.
1 Chr. 28:3 (David) “But God said unto me, Thou shalt not
build an house for my name, because thou hast been a man of war, and hast shed
blood”
David’s heart was speaking to him that he
wanted to build a house for the Lord, however the Lord had a different plan and
He
told David in verse 6 “And he said unto me, Solomon thy son,
he shall build My house and My courts: for I have chosen him to be My son, and
I will be his Father.”
Not that Solomon was more righteous than his father David,
but that his Father choose him. If the Lord didn’t choose me to write this it
wouldn’t happen, which in the first seemed as though I am not fit to write
this, but it speaks to me and my sin.
This speaks to me if I desire to be used I need to follow
the Lord Jesus Christ I need to submit to Him fully, I cannot play with sin,
and I cannot be a man of war. Yes David was used Greatly by the Lord, however
David fell and missed out on a ministry that he desired.
v.9 “And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy
father, and serve Him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the
LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the
thoughts” if thou seek Him, He will be found of thee,: but if thou forsake Him,
He will cast thee off for ever.”
The Lord calls us to perfection but knows we will fail. So
then what can we do to do the works of the Lord? To believe on Him whom He
sent. God will not cast you off if you are not perfect, but if you do what?
”He will cast thee off forever, if thou forsake Him”
David was still used, and Solomon was going to be used both
greatly, and what is the key here? What can I get from these great men, one
shown as fallen a man of war, and one seen as the most knowledgeable man to
walk the earth and the most wealthy?
Know that if you are a David, you can repent and follow the
Lord, He will not cast you off unless you forsake Him, in which case you are
casting yourself of. I can testify I want to be on Gods cast, so therefore if I
do not forsake Him I do well.
John 8:11
Jesus says “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”
Notice He doesn’t say “I do not condemn you so go now”, He
tells this woman caught in adultery to sin no more!
Further in John 9:39-41 “And Jesus said, “For judgment I am
come into this world, that they which see not might see: and that they which
see might be made blind.” And some of the Pharisees which were with Him head
these words and said unto Him, “Are we blind also?” Jesus said unto them, “If
ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, ‘We see: therefore your
sin remaineth”
As a Christian you should hate your sin, when you turn to
the Father you should be ashamed of your sin, and to be broken before Him
begging for mercy.
Psalm 123:3 “Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us:
for we are exceedingly filled with contempt”
And when you confess your sins, He is quick
to forgive, and you O sinner, and I direct it to myself,
O sinner, how long will you run while your legs are broken,
God is running along telling you to walk with Him, if you run away from your
sin, your legs will soon break in half, and you will be stuck and unable to
walk at all.
