Authenticity

This semester, more than ever, I have been realizing how crucial it is to be authentic. Though its sometimes the hardest thing to trust God and others with who you really are, its the only way to really be loved. I've been reading this book called "truefaced" and it talks about how people who wear masks, can't be loved to the extent they need to  because when people "love them", they love the mask, not them. It makes a lot of sense.

Talk to yourself!!

A quote from Llooyd-Jones, from the book Future Grace, by John Piper:

"I say that we must talk to ourselves instead of allowing ourselves to talk to us! Do you realize what I mean? I suggest that the main trouble in this whole matter of spiritual depression in a sense is this, that we allow our self to talk to us instead of talking to our self. Am I just trying to be deliberatley paradoxical? Have you realized that most of your unhappiness in life is due to the fact that you are listening to yourself instead of talking to yourself? Take those thoughts that come to you the moment you wake up in the morning. You have not originated them, but they start talking to you, they bring back problems of yesterday, ect. Somebody is talking. Who is talking to you? Your self is talking to you. Now (the psalmist's) treatment was this; instead of allowing this self to talk to him, he starts talking to himself. "Why art thou cast down, O my soul?" he asks. His soul had been depressing him, crushing him. So he stands up and says: "Self, listen for a moment, I will speak to you...why art thou cast down?- what buisness have you to be disquieted?...And then you must go on to remind yourself of God, Who he is, and what God is and what God has done, and what God has pledged himself to do. Then having done that, end on this great note: defy yourself, and defy other people, and defy the devil and the whole world, and say this with man: "I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance."

Cool/fun things I've done:

Star gazing while lying down on traintracks in the prairies waiting for the train to come so we can all run under the bridge while it goes by.

Jumping off of a 20 foot waterfall in Thailand... getting a bunch of water up the nose, quite the wedge, and quite the thrill.

hmm, ahhah thats all I can think of at the moment.

What are cool things you guys have done??

OHH I will hopefully be going on an air balloon in september!!!! Thats like seriously one of my dreams.

Be sure not to forget how faithful God has been to you in the past when looking at present and future situations!!!!

I've had to remember this lately.

Well I am officially working with the highschool next year, which means I will be living in the girls highschool dorm. I am really excited. and I also found out I will for sure be a counselor at camp this summer, thats awesome too.

This semester has gone by so fast. Its been a good semester though, and I can finally walk again!
I went to Nebraska for Mod week, and that was awesome, I had never really been to the states before so that was cool, but the trip itself was just awesome. It was so good to get away from Caronport and relax. I also love roadtrips, and we definitly had a roadtrip! 16 hours there, and like 24 back! We got to stop at Mt. Rushmore on the way back, and that was pretty awesome.
