So... I have made a new xanga.
I was tired of my old username forgotten15. Its really lame. And I think after having had this for two years, its time to part and start a new one.
http://www.xanga.com/tasha_s1298
My new username is pretty lamish too....but its more fitting to me I
think (considering it has my name and Peppy's birthdate on it :P )
And as you will see... its identical to this one all except the username. :P

| It is not the
brains that matter most, but that which guides them---the character,
the heart, generous qualities, progressive ideas.
- Dostoyevsky
This quote has been posted
before... but its another one of my favorites. I know alot of people
that could have brains and intelligence but their bad character totally
overshadows it. :(
The suckiest thing about this bullfight crap is that I can not just let
myself be completely pissed off about it. I have looked at it from
their point of view....
They aren't just killing the poor animal to be heartless. Its not their
fault that they grew up in a country where animals are thought to be
merely living objects. Its a sport to them, which could be
compared to American's hunting birds. Maybe it would be
easier to just think with my heart and hate these people for hurting
those poor bulls, but I can't do that because I also think with my
head. And it sure as hell makes things complicated. :P ..... but for
those who raised their hands yesterday and laughed about it, I can be
angry at them because they ARE laughing because they are heartless and
they SHOULD know better because they were raised in America and even
have pets of their own. Damn arrogant assholes.
Yesterday was a really bad day for me but I wont get into that. Its in my other journal anyway.
EDIT:
Breeding for money is WRONG. The breeders that sell puppies and don't
sign a contract with the buyers that they can't breed them are
wrong. Seriously... I dont understand how some people can even
call themselves animal lovers. If they are breeding
irresponsibly...they don't really love animals or even their breed.
There are TONS and tons of animals being euthanized each year. And
there are tons and tons of dogs in abusive, neglecting homes. A
real dog lover cares for every living dog... not just their pets and
puppies. Irresponsible breeding (and it IS irresponsible if its
for money) is not caring. Its showing your ignorance. Its
truelly saddening. Some people are so blind they cannot see they
are hurting the dog population.... And its even more saddening when you
try to offer them help and all you get is hate comments. Or if they are
really immature they go find every site you've been to and tell them
not to listen to you or something else incredibly childish. There
are just too many people out there that think like Ashley_0508. I
wasn't once rude to her... why she felt like she needed to be rude and
immature towards me... I guess thats her own issues she needs to figure
out. Its just too bad she is going to make her future puppies
suffer. Hmm... she's got a good 14 months before she can
breed...do you think I can get a breed regulating law out by
then!? :P
Seriously, its heartbreaking for me. Anybody who wants to help..... please do so.

| Hm.
Is it fair of me to say I have more life experience than most younger
people around this area? Is it reasonable for me to say I am more wise
through my experiences? Is it correct of me to say I've been through
more shit than some people never even have to imagine?
I think it is fair of me. I think its reasonable. Am I correct?
That I don't know. I don't know that I've been through more shit
because I don't know the people surrounding me well enough to know
that... But is it probable that I've been through more shit? Yes,
its probable.
And is it true that I have learned from my mistakes and am making wise
and intelligent choices everyday now? It is true that I don't need to
sound wise because my actions show that I am?
Yes. And yes.
But a person can be wise without having gone through lots of shit in
their lives. A person can be wise by learning from other's mistakes so
they don't have to make the same mistake. But a person cannot
understand fully wihtout having gone through the shit. And
understanding is a huge part of knowing.
I am not here to call anyone stupid, dumb, retarded...etc. I am here to
help educate people. I am here to show my kindness in hope that it
might rub off on other people or it might encourage others to show
kindness as well. And do I think I know it all? Nope. Thats why I
spend my free time having intelligent conversations on discussion
forums, or why when I could be watching pointless television I'm on the
computer reading articles on some important issue. I yearn for more
knowledge. I try to beat a little more ignorance out of me each
day. Thats more than I can say for most people who spend their
time worrying about boys, having sex, who's wearing what, who's dating
who, or other unimportant teen angst things.
P.S. I am seriously considering starting a petition, writing a letter,
anything! to get senators or law makers to start thinking about the
poor animals. We need to get breeding regulated for the animals' sakes!

"~An estimated 6 to 8 million dogs and cats are euthanized in shelters
each year. Millions more are abandoned, only to suffer from
illness or injury before dying.
~On average, it costs approximately $100 to capture, house, feed and
eventually kill a homeless animal - a cost that ultimately comes out of
all our pockets.
~The cost of having a pregnant female can be much higher than the cost of spaying.
~Seven dogs and cats are born every day for each person born in the
US. Of those, only 1 in 5 puppies and kittens stay in their
original home for his/her natural lifetime. The remaining 4 are
abandoned to the streets or end up at a shelter.
~Each day 10,000 humans are born in the U.S. - and each day 70,000
puppies and kittens are born. As long as these birth rates exist,
there will never be enough homes for all the animals.
~Approximately 55% of dogs and puppies entering shelters are killed, based on reports from 1,038 facilities across America.
~Approximately 71% of cats and kittens entering shelters are killed, based on reports from 1,038 facilities across America.
~The public acquires only 14% of its pets from shelters; 48% get their
pets as strays, from friends, from animal rescuers, 38% get their pets
from breeders or pet stores.
~An unspayed female cat, her mate, and all of their offspring,
producing 2 litters per years, with 2.8 surviving kittens per year can
total 11,606,077 cats in 9 years.
~In 6 years one unspayed female dog and her offspring can reproduce 67,000 dogs."

Think before you breed.Infact, its best if you dont breed. Think
before you buy a puppy. Make sure you are ready for the responsibility
of owning a dog or any other animal.

| Mr. Whiteman was discussing the bullfighting video with my class the
other day.... He told us that Europeans can bare to watch it and enjoy
that "sport" because they all live in the state of mind that animals
are only living objects.... I hate that state of mind. And
although I realize why they might think that, I can't even pretend to
understand it. Maybe I'm stupid for loving animals as much or
more than other humans... but I'm not stupid when I say its wrong to
treat a living/feeling thing, whether it be animals or humans, with
cruetly. And even if you believe animals are nothing important... that
is still no reason to treat them inhumanely. There is no just reason.
It is not the
brains that matter most, but that which guides them---the character,
the heart, generous qualities, progressive ideas.
