This is really fitting for me right now...

What Do We Know
by Thousand Foot Krutch
maybe if we would pray a little more

then maybe we would stop livin’ in fear of the storm
Remember when you were little and you got scared in the middle of the night? Whether it was a bad dream, a storm outside your window, or the monster in your closet, something could scare you until you would lie frozen in your bed, hoping that someone would come in and rescue you. When you finally had the courage to yell out to your parents, they’d come in and comfort you, reminding you that you’re safe.

When something in your life paralyzes you with fear, and that intimidating person or task has you stuck and feeling powerless, yell out to God. He will come to your side and remind you that he’s with you and that you’re safe. He’ll give you the strength you need to face any challenge.
Psalm 143:4-6
I am losing all hope;
I am paralyzed with fear.
I remember the days of old.
I ponder all your great works
and think about what you have done.
I lift my hands to you in prayer.
I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain.

I promise i'll get back into updating soon.

A real update will come soon...

The Face of Love
by Sanctus Real
I’ve seen your face on stained glass, in colored lights, / In pictures of you looking to the sky / You’ve been portrayed a thousand different ways / But my heart can see you better than my eyes / ‘Cause it’s love that paints the portrait of your life</
As we enter this busy holiday season, it’s easy to lose sight of the real reason. Besides images of the baby Jesus, we’ll be inundated with Santa and his reindeer and thousands of commercials for the “perfect gift.”

When you decide to follow Jesus, you get a restart of sorts. Your old life is gone and you have begun a new life in him. Now you get the chance to make different choices and do things differently. Your life will look completely different because the life you get with Jesus is far better than anything you could come up with on your own.
John 1:29

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Life on the Way Devotional

After the World
by Disciple
I’m the One that you’ve been looking for / I’m the One that you’ve been waiting for / I’ve had My eyes on you ever since you were born / I will love you after the rain falls down / I will love you after the sun goes out / I’ll have My eyes on you after
Nothing in this world is permanent. The things we have will eventually fall apart; the people we love will eventually die and leave this world. It’s good to know that there is one who has been there since the beginning of time and will be there for us when everything else is gone.

Not so is much of the other pain in our lives; the emotional and relational pain we encounter can be crippling at times. We cry out to God, asking for the pain to be taken away. And sometimes, it seems as though our cries go unheard. But how comforting to know that the pain isn’t forever. What we struggle with here on earth is only temporary. One day we’ll be in the arms of our loving Savior as he wipes away our tears. How wonderful to imagine that eternal life—a life with no pain.
Psalm 139:13-18
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother's womb.
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.

How precious are your thoughts about me,* O God.
They cannot be numbered!
I can't even count them;
they outnumber the grains of sand!
And when I wake up,
you are still with me!

You Are
by Ruth
See You there standing on the shoreline, / watching me out here as I’m taking on the storm. / I want You, and I need You. / Do You hear me? / Because I hear You, when You call my name to walk on water.
When you feel like you’re taking on storms in your life, where is God? Do you see him on the shoreline? Is he right there beside you? Is he somewhere on the other side of the mountain, out of your sight? It’s easy for us to get so caught up in our storms that we don’t even look around to see where God is in the midst of it all. The waves can seem so big and the clouds so dark that it’s hard for us to see much of anything other than the storm.

It helps to remember that God is always there with us. Even if you can’t see beyond your own need because the storm is so rough, God is there. Remember when Peter walked on water? As soon as he took his eyes off Jesus, he started to sink. If you just keep your eyes on Jesus—even when you can’t see him—you’ll stay afloat in whatever storm you face.
Matthew 14:28-31a
Then Peter called to him, "Lord, if it's really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water."
"Yes, come," Jesus said.
So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong* wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. "Save me, Lord!" he shouted.
Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. "You have so little faith," Jesus said. "Why did you doubt me?"

For some odd reason my allergies are absolutely horrible right now. I can't stop sneezing and my nose is running. I don't ever remember my allergies being bad in November. Weird. I am so tired. I went to bad after one last night and then woke up before seven and cou;dn't go back to sleep. I guess the 10 hours of sleep I got the night before caught up with me? I don't know...
The weather is finally getting nice here and i love it. It was in like the mid-50s last night. I usually have to sleep with my fan on in my room and last night I didn't. I just curled up with an extra blanket on my bed and some socks and went to sleep. I love it when it's like that. It's already warming up outside though. We've had some really beautiful weather since last Friday. Usually weather like this doesn't last this long..especially this early.
