Entry #6: Graduation

My brother's senior recital was on Friday, at 7:00 p.m. He played Prelude and Fugue in G minor, (J. S. Bach), Sonata in D major, movements one and two (Mozart), Prelude in B minor (Rachmaninoff), Fantasie-Impromptu (Chopin), Romance (Briley), March from the "Love of Three Oranges" (Prokofieff), and the 1st movement of the Concerto in D minor by Grieg. It was about an hour long, and about 50 people attended. We then had a fabulous reception with a lot of food, and desert. I was the door man,  helped turn pages for two of the songs he played, as well as for his teacher who accompanied him during the Concerto. Fortunately, I am also a musician, and was able to follow along as his teacher played, or else I would have been unable to be a page flipper. It was a very fun recital.

Then, on Saturday, we went to the HEAV convention were my brother was in a graduation ceremony and received his high school diploma. We left at 7:00 in the morning, and I spent the day in the exhibit hall, talking with friends, looking at the booths...and getting creamed at chess. I saw some friends there that I did not expect and some friends whom I did expect. There was a booth which sold chess sets and manuals that had a place to play chess. It was a matter of a loss of pride when I was beaten thrice. It was still fun though: I enjoyed it thoroughly. The graduation was at 3:30, so about an hour before then, we had gotten seats in the auditorium. There were many people from speech and debate there, and one of my friends had the idea to give the Region IX "HUZZAH" to the four speakers/debaters who were graduating. We reserved a row of seats for the people who wanted to come in but didn't have a ticket. This was good, because it turned out that after everyone with tickets had entered, people without tickets could come in. Thus, we had some seats for them. We had about 16 people there to huzzah. Fortunately I had a cellphone and was able to communicate with the other "Huzzahers". But unfortunately, they had seats on the other side of the room, so after one huzzah, which was defective because of our positions, they came over and kneeled down behind our chairs.

More later...

Entry #5: Grandparents

Yesterday, my mother and I went out to pick up our grandparents at the airport. We left early because we had some places to go. My mom had gotten feed up with the poor condition of my fish-tank. It was really terrible: a 29 gallon tank with three fish in it. We went and got some better gravel, plants and some fish. We got a pearl Gourami, two Dalmatian mollys, and two more Tiger Barbs. I had already had two Tiger Barbs and a silver dollar. I'm glad we got bigger fish, because the small ones that are only an inch long (like the neon tetras) are boring. I hope to in the future get a Placostomys, a clown Loach and a few more gouramis. I'm really glad we did that, because my tank now looks a hundred percent better!

We then went into the city to Barnes and Noble, were we picked up the Lord of the Rings, Fellowship of the Ring, complete soundtrack, composed AND conducted by Howard Shore. It was $50! Very expensive.

We picked up our grandparents from the airport, arrived home at 11:30 p.m., and worked on my fish tank till 12:30. Thus, I got to bed very late.

It has been very hot today, and I have been swimming. My brother's senior recital later this evening, and tommorow is the graduation. I can't wait, because I want to get some books at the conference, and need to persuade my mom to get $60 out of my bank account for that purpose. I will also be seeing some friends from speach and debate, which will be fun.

Entry #4: LOTS of work

Yesterday, I painted all day. Today, I painted, made cupcakes, and made a meal for 13 people. It was a hard two days. It was pretty fun painting, thought, because I got to listen to the Counte of Monte Cristo on tape. It is 35 CD's long, and is 43 hours 19 minutes. I got it from the Library and I am the first one to use it. Hence, many other people have reserved it so I cannot renew it. It is going to be hard to listen to it all before the 18th when I have to return it. I am only on disk 7. Well, I just have to listen a lot. I have read it once before, but listening to it has made me notice things I never noticed before.

I have decided to become a spy, writing down profiles of every person I know, and compiling them all, so I have a dictionary of people. Thus, I will never forget someone and will know all about them. Sherlock Holmes had books of all the famous people of his day, and I will have a book of all the people I come in contact to. I will have to think up a secretive name for it.

This busy week is almost over. Just a few more days. On Saturday, I will go to the HEAV convention in Richmond, were my brother is graduating and were I hope to see some friends from speech and debate. It will be a good time to take notes on people for my profile book. I also might get a few accomplices.

On the Region IX debate forum, I am having serious problems. I started this small harmless club, and people have been arguing against it. I have enjoyed arguing with them until today. This girl started attacking it, saying my arguments were invalid and illogical, using illogical arguments herself to prove her point. She finally resorted to Ad Hominem attacks, and if she wasn't a girl, I would have given her the glove. I am trying to deal with it discretely, and wisely, but she really passed the limit when she asked the mods to shut down my topic. Thus, I am quite upset with her, and I'm thinking on private messaging her, asking her to not post any longer in that topic. Please pray for me to hold my anger in, and to act wisely. I definitely do not want to make an enemy over such a small matter.

Entry #3: Done with school work. Almost

YAY!!! I have finished my final Latin exam. (It was very tough). WOOT!!! I completed my final Marine Biology exam (was difficult, but not like the Latin.) HURRAY!!! I auditioned to move up to the next orchestra. I am in the Youth Orchestras of Prince William, and am in the Wind Symphony. Last night, I auditioned to move up to the Youth Symphony Orchestra which is a full orchestra, wheras the Wind Symphony was just wind instruments. It was a very tought audition. I am not sure yet if I got in... I'm glad I am done with my school work-BUT WAIT!! I forgot, I am only halfway through Algebra 1, thus I will be doing math ALL summer...Oh Well!!!! Its just math. I also plan to work on a book I am writing with a friend. I hope to accomplish a lot as we may move next year, and I want to get as much done as possible. Well, I have to go.

Entry #2: VA beach, and final paper

Well here I am back at Virginia Beach. We left late last night, and got here at about midnight. I slept till 9:30, which is the latest I've slept in a long time. I got up this morning, ate breakfast and started working. I have my final Marine biology study guide to do, and my final paper to write for Great books. Once I write the paper, I will be done with greatbooks, although I still have my Marine Biology final on June 4. When I finished my latin final exam on Tuesday, I finished with latin and I am very glad, because it was so tough. This summer, I plan on doing math and working on a book I am writing with a friend.

Vale, Amicae Amicique!! (Latin Class Hangover )
