Freaky Friday

So yesterday was absolutely the BEST!! I had such a good time!! Here is the rundown of the day...

- Yesterday morning Me, Sam Bogan, & Garrett all went horseback riding!! It was soo much fun. I hadn't been on the back of a horse in about a year and a half. For those of you who don't know. I showed horses competitively for like 3 years, and then we had to sell my show horse. We had so much fun. We rode around the pasture for a little while and then we rode in the arena and I GOT TO JUMP!!! It was so much fun. I was riding one of Sam's friends horses and he was so good for me. Getting him to listen was a chore, but once he did, he was awesome! I think we jumped around 2' 6" or 3'. It was so much fun!! Then we went back to Garrett's house ate lunch and did some swimming for about 5 hours. Then we were going to all go out and have fun last night, but we couldn't. But the day was so fun. My life felt complete again after riding!! It had been such a long time. I had to stop riding to make time for all of my dance and theatre stuff and I miss it so much!!

- Not too much else going on. Been working, swimming, and hanging out. REALLY need to get to work on my online classes!!! They kinda suck! I am not sure how I am going to be able to do them.... I know, I know everyone says their easy but they are time consuming and about the last thing I wanna do when I get home from work. We are gonna see how they go for a while. Thats about it. Hope everyone is having a great summer!!

High School Musical

So I had a revelation today.... What a COMPLETE WASTE 7 years of school at Caldwell Elementary/Jr/Sr High was. Let me give you all a little background of my schooling career....

-- I was born in Hobart, Oklahoma and went there for Kindergarten & 1st Grade

-- My dad got a way better job, and we moved to Kansas. Which is where my mom is from, so it was awesome for her because it was like going home. What an amazing move it turned out to be regardless of what I thought at the time! My mom got a job as the drug education counselor at Wellington High School and so I went to Eisenhower Elementary in Wellington for 2nd grade. She knew that  job was not permanent but she took it anyway because she needed a job at the time...

-- The next year, she took the job as Counselor of Caldwell Public Schools (about 30 minutes from wellington, no biggy, we didn't even have to move) I was quite distraught, but Caldwell would do... I went to Caldwell from 3rd grade until my sophomore year. I really didn't have anything against Caldwell. It was small, and easy to get around, my grandma was there. It was all gravy. (My mom took a better job at Cowley College when i was going into 6th grade, and then went on to work at Wichita Heights a couple years later)

-- After my 10th grade year, the music department at Caldwell had gone to crap, and I was having problems with the music teacher, had quit choir, and was hating school more and more by the second! The music department at Heights was awesome, so my junior and senior year I went to Heights in Wichita. Me and my mom drove the 55 minutes every morning and evening to school together from Mayfield (where we live) to Wichita Heights on the freaking NORTH side of wichita! I would have traded a minute of it for all the money in the world. There were just so many more opportunities for me.

-- In the 7 years that I spent in the halls of Caldwell schools I thought I had some of the greatest friends, nothing too special, but it was pretty much all that was there. With around 250 students K-12, yah didn't have much choice... In the 2 years I was at Heights I had better friends than the 7 that I was at Caldwell. After I transfered to Heights we still went to church in Caldwell, went to see my grandma all the time, and I worked at the pool there the summer after my senior year. You know how many people I have talked to from Caldwell since we all went to college... MAYBE one!! What kind of shit is that! I could not ask for better friends that I got in 2 years at Heights. We do everything together all the time. Imagine what I could have had with them in 7 years! Then the ones I had for almost 4 times as long don't give a shit about me!! I was looking through my facebook today and realized all these people that I am "friends" with from Caldwell and how many I have talked to in the past year.... And it came to me that it was the biggest waste there....

-- Anyway, thats about all. Besides the 2 years at Heights, I can't even mention the AMAZING people that I know from Butler in about 10 months at Butler. They can't even compare, so I didn't even want to put them in here. It was more of High School type comparison. But you Butler people know who you are and how much I love you all! I hope you are all having a great summer, and I can't wait to see you!!

I have so many things to say, too many to put in a xanga post.... But its probably going to be a pretty lengthy one!! Just an FYI!!

* School is over - Wow!! Holy shit did it go fast. I can't believe that my freshmen year of college is over. It is kind of scary how fast it went. It baffles me how much things can change in a years time. It really isn't that long of a time but my life is really a lot different.

* Finals = Okay I guess.... Got my first C ever in a class this semester. In fucking General Biology!! 79.3%, ain't that about a bitch!! Kinda pisses me of too, to be real honest!! I didn't take the news to well when I went and figured out my grade this week. Ended up with like an 88% in Comp II, but all the rest were A's. A new lowest GPA ever for John this semester. Kind of depressing, but oh well! The ONLY class that I am taking this semester that counts towards my major (Intro to Business) I got like a 105% in, so I guess thats good. Seeing as how Business Administration is my major!!

* Last Choir Concert - Wow, lots of tears were shead. I was expecting them to come out, but not to the extent that they did! I wasn't sure I had any tears left after that weekend. The Freshmen Headliners kidnapped the Sophomores and kind of gave them a little "Farewell" but not really goodbye party. It was so much fun, and I hope that they enjoyed it! They deserved it for all of the work that they did for us! They are amazing. I don't know what I am going to do without some of them next year. They have taught me so much, and I have gotten so close to so many of them, the good news is that most of them aren't going horribly far away. Which is a good thing, I will get to see most of them fairly often! I kinda feel bad because at our Headliner final I didn't tell hardly anyone goodbye because I thought I was going to see them before all of them left for the summer!! Boy was I wrong. Most of the people I wanted to say goodbye to I definately didn't. Everyone was in such a hustle to get out of the dorms and stuff. It was craziness. So for those who I didn't get to say goodbye to. I hope you have a great summer. Keep in touch, and let me know if you want to come and stay!! (You all know who you are!!!)

At the risk of sounding cliche, I do have to say that it was an amazing year, and I met some truly amazing people who will forever have a place in my heart. It cannot believe that you can love so many people so much in such a short amount of time. This year was great, and I had a great time with so many of you!! I cannot wait for the camp show so that we can all perform together one more time! I want to be a great sophomore for our freshmen coming in that our sophomores were for us!! If not better... I can't imagine the tears that will be shed when it comes time for camp.... Not that i'm a cryer or anything, but yah know!! I do want everyone to know that I had a great year with all of you, and as much as it hurts to say goodbye to the sophomores, I am excited for next year.

* Summer Plans - It is going to be a freaking busy summer! I am going to be working at the gym full time. I should be working about 30 - 40 hours a week. But only Monday - Thursdays and on the weekends working birthdays and stuff if I want to. So I am pretty excited about that, I should be making some pretty good money. I also got offered the job as lead dance instructor at the YMCA in El Dorado. I am trying to get ahold of the guy to tell him that I will do it. But I haven't been able to get ahold of him at all. And he is pretty horrible at returning phone calls. I also told him that I would lifeguard too if he needed me to. They are looking for guards for the summer too, I just need to renew my CPR card and stuff. So we will see how all that turns out, but the Gym is a definate. If he isn't getting back to me because the position is already filled then I will probably try and find a weekend job so that I can make some money. I am also taking 6 hours of online classes this summer too!! (Music Appreciation and US History 1 if anyone else is taking those, or has advice let me know!!) Gotta take advantage of that shit while its free! Smack is also wanting to really get the office organized and help get things ready for camp and all that stuff. It should be a pretty busy summer. Not too many dull moments. Gonna have to find time to get homework done and hang out with people that are still around here!! Those are a must!! Plus I am going to CABO!!!! Thats right bitches!! Cabo San Lucas here I come!! Me and Garrett's dad are already talking about the fun that we are gonna have!! I am UBER excited!!
Also, very excited for my high school friends to be home and be able to hang out with them! I haven't gotten to hang out with some of them in such a long time because I have been so damn busy and so have they! Some of us got to hang out the other day and it was such a blast!! I have missed them so much!!

* Fall Semester - I have one hell of a schedule for the fall. I am finally getting into classes for my major since my gen ed stuff is out of the way! Accounting 1, Business Calc, MicroEcon, and Public speaking are all on the agenda, plus my music classes!! It is going to be crazy. I am not looking forward to all of the homework of that shit! But hey, surely it will pay off when I am making millions!!  At least that is the hope anyway!

* Did find out that Matt is for sure coming to WSU when he gets out of the Marines in about exactly a year from now. He told mom that if I was still interested he wants to live with me, if he thought we could get along. We aren't 5 and 9 anymore so surely we can do it!! We had a bit of a fighting problem when we were younger!!! So I am kinda excited about that. Gonna try and find something on the east side of Wichita, preferably the NORTH east side, but that is still a long ways a way!! But exciting none the less!!

*Also excited for the amazing new roomies that are moving in soon!! You guys are awesome and I can't wait for all the fun that we are going to have. I love you both!!

That's really about all for now.... Not really into the whole updating of Xanga anymore, so don't expect too much. a) don't have time    b) facebook is better    c) no one reads this     d) I get no comments anymore.... But I will update from time to time, or if I get update requests I will update also! Have a great summer!!
