Way in the beginning you are just a point in a single dimensional world. Sure there are sounds and sensations around you they seem like are part of you since there is nothing there but you in this world. There's a steady beat inside of you and there's another steady beat around you but it's all you and you are all of it. However, your growing and soon your world become tight. It becomes hard to move and you want out. And then suddenly, your moving. Your world takes on a new dimension as you travel in a line. It hurts and you don't know what awaits on the other side but it's too late to contemplate that now. Boom! Your on the other side, you've reached the light at the end of the tunnel big hands take you up, you take your first breath and you scream with all your might. Everything is so bright and noisy and you miss your cozy little world from before. Your body is being filled with strange sensations as your lungs fill with air and your skin begins to dry. You scream and scream and there is a response and for the first time in your life you realize that you are not alone. Hands pass you along until finally, you hear that familiar steady beat and you know that you're home and when you look up you see that home comes with a smile. You grow and you learn that this new world of yours is huge! But when you look up, you see mom and dad and even though they're so much bigger, more powerful and could squish you like a bug they feed you and clean you and nurture you through this time of discovery. And when you look to the side you see he and she and realize they are just like you and you realize you are not the only one facing this new world for the first time. You look around and discover that this needs to be cared for and that must be approached with caution and your curiosity peaks but the big hands carry you through life so fast that you don't get a chance to get a good look at everything. You want to go on your own but you don't know how and then the big hands put you down. They hold you by the hands and help you stand. It's such a strange sensation that you don't know what's going on. But then you realize, you can move like they can move and you take your first few steps and you're filled with joy and a sense of accomplishment. But that's not enough, you still can't travel on your own yet and suddenly that hands let go. You freak and you cry because suddenly you're suddenly standing on your own two feet with no there to support you and you feel so alone. Then you notice the hands haven't left, they're still there hovering beside you waiting, watching, ready to catch you if you fall. You then take your first few steps on your own. Filled with thrill and excitement you take a few more and you see ahead of you hands held out waiting to embrace you at then end of your journey. They encourage when you feel discouraged, they laugh with you when you find something interesting on your road, and they guide you back when you stray too close to danger. You can see he and she making the same journey beside you towards their own sets of hands. You see one of them fall, cry and give up for now and you feel discouraged but you see the other do it and do it so well and you want to be like that one only better. Finally you find yourself at the end of the journey and just like the time you came out of that dark tunnel you find the embrace of home. You've learn to walk on your own and with practice you learn to do it well but you then find comfort and joy in walking hand in hand with him and her, your friends, and together you steady eachother when one stumbles and take on the next journey together. |
