| House selling Take 5We have sold our house for the 5th time in the last year! We have a few loose ends we need to get straightened out with our last buyers to officially end that contract but we are praying that everything goes smoothly and quickly and this contract makes it all the way to closing!!!
After having 4 contracts fall through I'm not feeling very confident that this contract will really make it to closing. But I am hoping! We will breath the biggest sigh of relief when closing is over for this house!

| Someone posted this on a message board. What to do with your stimulus check. . .I agree garage sales are a great way to stimulate the economy!
If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China. If we spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs, if we purchase a computer it will go to India, if we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala, if we purchase a good car it will go to Japan, if we purchase useless stuff it will go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy. We need to keep that money here in America. The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it at yard sales, since those are the only businesses still in the US. | | |

Juice
More
is not always better!
drinking too much
juice can contribute to obesity, cavities, diarrhea, and other
gastrointestinal problems, such as excessive gas, bloating and
abdominal pain.
infants
under 6 months of age should not be given juice, although many
Pediatricians do recommend small amounts of juice for children that
are constipated
younger
children aged 1 to 6 years should have only 4 to 6 ounces of juice a
day.
older
children should be limited to 8 to 12 ounces of juice a day
instead of juice,
children should be encouraged to eat whole fruits
If your child
fills up on juice they may not want to eat other healthy foods
Your child does
not need to drink any fruit juice, especially if he is
getting the Food Guide Pyramid's recommended servings of fruit by
eating whole fruit.

Academy of Pediatrics. Policy Statement. The Use and Misuse of Fruit
Juice in Pediatrics. PEDIATRICS Vol. 107 No. 5 May 2001, pp.

Some tips for
making the most of your WIC juice:
try making
flavored water by mixing juice and water. 1/3 juice and 2/3
water tastes similar to a lot of the expensive flavored waters such
as Propel only its cheaper and more natural! It will also help you
increase your water intake!
Look at the
ingredient list on all your purchases. The ingredients are listed
in the order of amount. If you buy “grape flavored” juice and
the first ingredient is apple juice than you know that there is more
apple juice in the drink than grape juice. And if sugar or high
fructose corn syrup is listed than its not 100% juice and its
probably better to just leave that drink on the shelf!
Mix some juice
with yogurt to make a yogurt drink just like the ones sold in
the yogurt section of your store. If you are making a yogurt drink
for your little one you might even be able to use PLAIN yogurt and
juice to make a drink that is lower in sugar than the more expensive
ones at the store!

| Compassion InternationalWe just started sponsoring a little girl in Indonesia. She is 9 years old. When I was in middle school my parents sponsored a little girl. I think compassion is one of the BEST groups to help make a difference in the lives of poor people in other countries. They manage the money they are given extremely well. All the love and help the children receive is done in Jesus name. If you give your child or their family an extra monetary gift 100% of that gift goes to the family. I don't know of any other sponsorship program that will promise you the children will hear about how much Jesus loves them, and also do such a good job caring for the children's emotional, physical, and educational needs. They work through local churches so you are also helping their local church when you help a child. I remember one time at a women of faith conference hearing about World Vision and being encouraged to sponsor a child through them. When I looked into it though they couldn't promise that my sponsored child would ever hear about Jesus.
We just got the packet of information and picture of the little girl in the mail today. I'm not a scrapbooking person but I would like to make a scrapbook of our correspondence with this little girl and her family since the papers we exchange through the mail is really our only connection we have to her.
