  • Cancel That Trip To The Pyramids...

No...I didn't really have one scheduled...but I found myself reading a travel alert today, that suggested that the men in Egypt routinely harass women they consider " to be asking for it", by wearing tight, or revealing clothes...(read that anything that's not a burkhah...)

But Observent muslim women from Egypt also report being harassed when they were decently clad, right down to a head wrap...

The article said that "decent" women will never be out on the streets after 8 pm...wonder what the deadline is for "decent" men?

  • Don't Ask, Don't Tell

    He accused me once
    of being his immortality,
    virile lust made forever
    by words that haunt
    those who read them.

Don't ask why he had to return,
had to press just once more kiss
to the one he left behind
    so many times---
    Don't tell him why
    he feels the itch,
    the urge,
    why he needs to engage
    when every lick of sense
    says "damn, you know better."

I knew he would pull in
    moments before the sound
    hit my inner ear---
    I'd heard him not sleeping
    like i don't sleep
    since his last farewell.

    You write poetry to me
    such unique words
making me oh so young again---
the only time you resort to cliche
is when you're halfway out the door,
    stammering things you don't mean,
certain it will all feel better
when you get far enough away.

    Don't ask, don't tell
    and we will do neither
but still I touch your photo
    wondering what mojo you own
that makes me say your name
to every phase of the moon.

  • Context

My lawyer mentioned this blog...said in the coming suit, it might be used.

    So be it.

But I hope the judge has the wisdom to make them use ALL of the entries...like the ones about how hard it is to get treatment...or when they denied me my surgery after THEIR own doctor agreed with mine.  I hope they have to offer evidence about how much the accident changed my life, and limited me so severely.

One sentence...or one pargraph taken out of context can make anyone look foolish or worse.

But someone really should have to explain how some of their "experts" came to their judgements. Like the latest letter---where one so called doctor said that it was not "medically needed" to remove the plate last year to fix mt neck. How they were supposed to do that without removing it is anyone's guess...but three different doctors said it was the way to go...including Doctor Darryl Antonacci...and he's one of the best surgeons in the US for that sort of work...

    So...context is everything.

  • Losing Light

Jeff needed me to sit with Lyn...just for a few minutes.
I spoke to her...and made sure she didn't do herself harm...but her eyes.
    My god.
It was like someone had blown out the candle behind them...leaving one tiny bit of light, still flickering...but bound to fade.

I hate when I can see it so clearly...
