| PS WorldPS: A new realization that I kind of already knew about...there is almost nothing more shocking than taking a big gulp of something and getting something you did NOT expect. For example: A gulp of coffee that you expected to be warm at the very least. Only it's cold. Which is what just happened to me. | | |
| Dear Finals, Go Away. Love, Me.I hate finals. The only good thing about finals is you know that when they're over, you get to go home. I had two yesterday. The other two are, of course, at the end of the week. It would make too much sense for them all to be anywhere near each other. I think I can honestly say that yesterday was the most productive day that I have had at this institution of higher learning. That's a sad commentary on my work ethic, not the school's ability to challenge my mind and inspire my soul. Well...now that I think about it, maybe it is sad for the school. Whatever. I have a horrible work ethic, and that's that. I think the only reason why I felt productive yesterday is because I had a final, then I worked on a study guide, and then had another final, and then worked on an assignment for class. But really...I didn't get tons done. I don't know. I probably did get a lot done. Today, on the other hand, has been a very unproductive day. Word of advice: Don't bring your laptop to work study. I have gotten almost nothing done today. Thank you Facebook and my inability to focus on one thing for more than 15 minutes at a time. You're really helping me acomplish a lot with my life. I think I'm about to start a bad habit of dependancy on coffee. Such is the life of a history major, I guess. Of course, Xanga is an enabler to my procrastination. Thank you. But in all seriousness, it's high time I got my life in check and actually got a little something done today. | | |
| I'm back for my one post every 6 months post! I don't really have anything to say. I simply felt the need to say something. Which, is somewhat of a waste of my time and yours...hmm. Well, sophmore year of college is turning out to be a lot better than freshman. Problem Solving sucks because it's kinda hard. US History is good, I guess, except until about a month ago I was the only one the teacher really called on. Humanities is stupid. Art History is interesting except it's hard to stay awake cause we sit in a dark room and look at slides. Choir is cool. We're doing a lessons and carols that was composed entirely by a student at the college. It's awesome. AAAND we're also going to Italy for Spring Break '08! Don't worry, folks, I won't get lost this time. I'm super excited cause we're going to a few places that we didn't go to during my last trip. We're going to Venice, and I'm going to ride a gondola and sing Dean Martin! I so excite! that's all! | | |
| I'm back for more, guys. I know, I know. Two posts in one weeks! Don't wet yourselves. I got a haircut today. It's shorter, but not too short. I like it. To this day, my favorite part of the haircut experience is the shampoo. It's very relaxing. Today, I ate a PBJ off of a plate that you can't put in the dishwasher. I felt fancy and not so fancy at the same time. | | |
| Well, it sure has been awhile. A lot has happened since February. I've learned a lot about who I am and a lot about other people. Also, it's summer and I'm really bored. I recently learned a very important lesson. The lesson I learned is this: Cherish your friendships. I know it sounds stupid, because we're young, but you never know when a friend could be taken from you. This is perhaps even worse than loosing a grandparent, because you usually never see it coming when it's someone so young. Be careful in your cars. I don't think we realize that cars are huge, heavy hunks of metal that are capable of moving at high speeds. We aren't invincible, and we aren't immortal. Every time you get behind the wheel of a car, realize that it has the potential of taking lives. This isn't meant to scare anyone or anything, but it's important to know that your actions can have severe consequences. When you think about it, our lives aren't really all that long. We get 75 to 80 short years on this planet. Compared to the rest of time, that's nothing. So make the most of it, but also be careful. I'm not saying live your life in a bubble, but be responsible. I have nothing against a good time, but be aware of your actions and the possible outcomes and ramifications of certain choices. On a much lighter note...me and my dear friend MKP learned a few lessons this year as well. The first we learned is how to get a tow truck. You see...my car's brakes broke back in May, either right before or right after finals. We got them fixed, but, still...Another thing we learned is what to do if your identity has been stolen. That's right folks...my identity kind of got stolen. "Kind of? How do you 'kind of' get your identity stolen?" Well, turns out someone had been using my drivers license number to write bad checks. Luckily, they hadn't opened any other accounts, but still. It was scary. Other than that, my life has been pretty uneventful. I've just been busy with summer classes and whatnot. But, we have a weeks break between terms, so, here I am. Sitting at home, bored out of my mind. Oh, I almost forgot...I got a chance to see an advanced screening of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phenoix thanks to MySpace. Not only did I see it two weeks early, but I also saw it for free. But I can't wait to see it again in two weeks. I also can't wait for the book! That's all for now. I hope you've enjoyed this most random post. | | |
