I'm actually really excited for the women's final on saturday. Sharapova is undoubtly at the top of her game and is playing like the most dominate player in women's tennis. Ivanovic on the other hand has shown a lot of resiliency in both the quarter and semi finals and has blossomed into a big time winner. This tournament might not have come out as competitive as some have hoped for, and Sharapova is the clear favourite right now with her all round game. One thing's for sure, this match would not be painful to watch at all.
I'm a nice guy. Every once in a while I think to myself, how can I make the world a better place? Not too long ago I volunteered to help teach high school kids how to solder a basic electronics kit. These are kids who are planning to go on to study electrical engineering in college. I felt like this was my calling, these kids need guidance, they need someone to tell them to turn back while they still can.
"Psst, engineering is going to be the worst mistake of your life."
In the end, the choice is theirs to make. After all, I'm sure there are going to be people who live and breathe math, enjoy deciphering cryptic text books, and spend their days with guys who have lost touch with reality. But if nothing else, they'll come out of it with a good paying job they won't enjoy. Which is what people seem to be going for these days anyway.
It's been two and a half years since high school, but it doesn't feel like it's been that long. I found this CD a couple days ago, the commencement video Royce sent me because he knew I couldn't make it and he was such a good friend. Ah, there's nothing like nostalgia. Enjoy the video below!
There are a lot of video game related videos out there, but this stop-motion tetris video made me smile. :)
My resolution this year is to not waste a single day and stick to a training routine. Oh, and maybe try and pay more attention in class. Happy new year everyone!
