    Holla! :)

So … it’s time for an update on my life, in case you care, which obviously you do, since you’re here reading this.

FIRST of all, I got my hair cut. This is kind of a bad picture of it, but whatever:

    Hair

I love it. I think it’s very rock and roll.

Anyway, in other news, I’m obsessed with Twilight. The four book series is SERIOUSLY addicting, and I cannot stop reading. I’ve already read Twilight and New Moon, and am halfway through Eclipse. I almost want to slow down reading because I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself once I’m done.

Yes, I saw the movie and thought it was good. Robert Pattinson as Edward was awesome. He’s dreamy … for a vampire.

And all of a sudden, it’s December! Thanksgiving came and went quickly! It was really fun doing the whole “two Thanksgiving” thing: a quiet and more relaxed one at my house, and then a crazy insanely busy one at the Singleton household. J It was really cool though to be able to spend time with Greg’s family while they were here, because two of his three sisters live down in NC, so it was great to catch up with them for a couple of days.

We played Trivial Pursuit (boys vs. girls – I’ll give you ONE guess who kicked butt J), ate a lot of food, watched a lot of football, and basically just vegged out. It was pretty awesome.

December also marks the end of my first semester of grad school, which is amazing. I have class this week and next week and then I’m done. I have one take-home final that I will have a week to complete, and then one final test to take in class for Child Psych next Thursday. Other than that, I am officially done until January 12. Next semester is going to be REALLY hard though, since I am taking Clinical, Intro, Research, and Multicultural. YIKES. I smell a 30 page paper or two on the horizon. Ah well, it will all be worth it in the end.

I hope you’re all doing well and had a great holiday! Miss and love you XOXO

  • Just so you know, I'm alive.

I know, I know. Updating this once a week is not sufficient.

I am under a ton of stress right now trying to finish up my first semester of grad school, so I'm a little on edge. You cannot earn lower than a B in your first 12 credits of my program, or you basically get kicked out, have to reapply, and start over.

The last day of class is Dec. 10, and my spring classes don't begin until Jan. 12, so I have a full month of no classes, which will be Heaven.

In all seriousness though, I have tons of papers, a presentation, and a final test to get through before I'm done here, and my life does not consist of much else at the moment. Once my classes are over, I will have much more to talk about and more time to write.

I love you, guys. Thanks for checking in on me ...

    Think about it.

I went to NCBI this morning, and it was amazing to see everyone again. I got to listen to a speak-out that this young girl who was out as a lesbian. Her Mom told her that she "embarrassed" her because of her sexual orientation. The girl, in turn, is emotionally damaged and now feels unlovable.

How could you say something so unbelievably cruel to your own daughter? Do you have any idea how damaging yours words are?

    It's sad, and frustrating.

I am still bogged down in work, and know I'll have to spend a TON of time this weekend catching up. Like writing that 15-20 page paper that's due, um, SOON. :::Sigh::: This is depressing, sorry.

Hey, guess what though? Barack Obama is going to be President in a little more than 2 months! That cheers me up. :)

Much love to you all ...

  • Wow, hi!

It's been a minute (and a half) since I updated, sorry! You all probably think I've been in a very bad mood for the past few days, huh? Not so.

Weekend was pretty laid back ... I can't even remember what I did. I know it involved watching the Giants beat the Eagles on Sunday night ...

OH YEAH! I went bowling on Saturday for the Junior Achievement thing at work. SO much fun. I sucked, but Greg was really good. It was kind of weird hanging out with people from work ... outside of work. But they're cool, so it was fun.

SO, tomorrow I am going to a Train-the-Trainer for NCBI. If you don't know what NCBI is, it's too long of a story to catch you up on. Basically, I interned with them in college, and that's all I have the time to go into with you. ANYWAY, I'm traveling to Delmar to see these people 'cause I love them so much, and Ira is going to introduce me to the head of the Guidance Dept. at Guilderland, which is KILLER because that might give me an "in" with them if I apply to intern there. Which I will. So, that's sweet.

I just bought the first book of the Twilight series and will begin reading those ASAP. If you've read them, tell me what you think of them! I hear they are pretty bad ass, so I'm excited about it.

Pretty much, I'm drowning in work and that's why I don't update this. It's so bad that I am not going to NYC this weekend to see Brittany now, even though I had originally planned to go. I just can't, it is so bad. I'm going to cry just thinking about all I have to do in the next week. And you KNOW it must be a lot to keep me away from my best.

    :::Sigh::: Just gotta keep movin'.

    X's and O's to you all ...
