also, do read his latest post. he called us the tribe on drugz. word! CENTURIONS POWER! RED Camp 5 19th November 2008: Day 1 i was not looking forward to this day. it also seemed as if fate didn't think it was a good idea to go at all either. my alarm didn't ring and i overslept for a whole hour and a half, completely unaware of what was happening until adlin rang me. when we arrived at the convention center, we were greeted by many enthusiastic and hyper SLs (urg). the hall was packed filled with students. most still suffering for post-Os laziness, including me. however... until the party really started, it was almost as if the hyperness of the SLs was contagious, we went nuts with just a flick of a finger. WOOOTS! we were introduced to many cheers and i for one love cheering. esp the sjabs, you would know... (though i am not the cheerleader type... not perky with the squeaky voice and adores doing countless flips in the air). our hosts were: matthew (the chinese/korean who is full o' shit), bernice (SLAM) and roxanne (total cuteness). the barracudas brought the house down with their amazing beats. we were also introduced our tribe mascots! Ninjas: Hiro Nakamumu (sushified, HAI!),
Apaches: Big hairy bear (twirly twirly red indian, OOOOOO!)
Vikings: 3 horns (you're so horneh. horneh horneh, AYE AYE CAP!),
Spartans: blueberry cheesecake (sexually confused, manly woman.. AWUH!),
and the most awesomeness tribe on drugs... (drum roll please...)
Centurions: the forever sexy Medusa (SUMOS! DISCO!) separated into our subtribes (for adlin, falisha haziqah, avalyn, peili and me, subtribe 5). led by 3 adorable SLs: Adin, Llynette and Jaslyn! first up, CCAs!
1. floorball: scored a 25! so i earned meself 2 sweets. im awesome, i know.
2. archery: all my arrows hit the mid yellow portion. piece of cake. :D (actually.. i had tonnes of practise. it wasn't my first)
3. tying knots: i ruled this game too. uh huh uh huh. sisscors-paper-stone-ed everyone away (if you don't know what im talking about.. too bad)
4. bowling: more like throwing (our equibment was a completely unrounded plastic ball and water-filled coke bottles. hah)
5. caterpillar (i think that's what it's called) we were having a blast. haziqah was not very happy that i managed to score at floorball on my 3rd try. so... after about 10+ tries, she managed a 50 (whatevs). she was hilarious, aiming in all directions. including at some of ngee ann's floorballers. lunch was kfc chicken (free. yes, it's free. everything at red is free).   
 
next, HMS (not high school musical you dimwit, school of humanities.. though im not quite sure how it can be HMS). we learned how to fold a panda origami at chinese studies, watched a really adorable puppet show at early childhood. (btw.. the place really reeks. no offense) FMS (film and media studies). we were shown what goes around in a recording studio. we were also given an opportunity to record a song too! SL khairul on the drums and some other red camper in vocals and guit. we also spotted the all famous paul twohill having class (shaggy hair.. worse than before). there were also some really whacked commercial ads the students there did for their projects.. one was for durex. 'put a hood on your toot'. HAH! since it was pouring rain, we were told to settle down at the first floor of the fms building where there was a huge open space. apparently, there was a so called "radio station" located there called radio heatwave (i think) where we were allowed to dedicate songs! i went up first to dedicated womanizer by britbrit to all centurions, SLs, 4E3s and hillgrovians. i couldn't stop chanting 'womanizer woman womanizer, oh, womanizer...'. you have gotta admit, that song is really catchy! adin and lynette also dedicated disturbia to us group 5! :D  
back to the convention center... it was the showdown for best tribe of the day. the ninjas won. the centurions (along with the spartans) were the first to be given the boot as our representative gave the wrong answer. kinda sad.. cause he may have gotten it right. the SLs were giving at him the correct ans! but its alright man, you tried. home sweet home now and i was dead beat... it was really sweet of adin and jaslyn to walk us to the bus stop! 20th November 2008: Day 2 
i was kinda convinced that yesterday was so great, it cannot get any better. but it did. random: coincidentally, i saw my cuz, eugene, as haziqah, falisha and i climbed that irritatingly steep slope up. he is a student there, and was heading to class. i'll be seeing him tonight again for our uncle's wed. once again, the SLs were jumping with excitement as they greeted us at the convention center. very awkward considering that every single one of them is just yelling MORNING in yer face once they see you. today, we were also shown our each tribe's personal vid. CENTURIONS HAD THE BEST, MOST COMICAL ONE *standing ovation! im not being bias kay, it's just true. so.. deal. (i love matt's comment when the spartans' vid when it lagged. horneh as ever. im sure red campers know what im talkin about). btw, we were named the loudest tribe! woots! and it turns out.. we also have alliances with 2 other tribes, uh huh, like a real war. isn't that cool. so...

(cenvitans sounds sexier) like yesterday, we were once again grouped into our subtribes. a diff one though. it was not what we wanted! we were hoping to be with adin, lynette and jaslyn again. but it's alright, blueberry cheesecake aka benedict aka dict aka dick was our group leader. you gotta love him.. he is too adorable. however, we (alyssa, avalyn, bangyan, peili and me) were separated from haziqah and falisha! not happy i tell ya. at LCST, we were taught the proper method of planting and the amazing stuff liquid nitrogen can do. they actually submerged biscuits into liquid nitrogen. totally edible, it appears. the weird thing, though, would be that it sends frozen air running through your body. adin actually managed to pass the frozen air through his nose, hilarious. we were also given a free, tiny, potted plant. it was a real hassle to bring it home. but dont worry, ya'll tree huggers, it's safely settled in the house's balcony/garden. next, HS. what they did there just reminds me so much of sj. :D i really do appreciate my mom now (and myself, in the future.. i think). one nursing dude (so random), had my finger to that a heart rate monitor. my pulse was a 190+. (that ain't norm. a calm person is around 90. heh). he was freaking out on me. but.. I WAS HONESTLY FEELING FINE. alyssa was smirking at me. idiot. =P LUNCH: BREEKS! tell me, how awesome does that spaghetti balognese smell? and that yummy choc brownie? oh wait.. you can't smell it. cause you didn't go for red! poor you. *shakes head in chagrin and smacks lips. mm mmm mmmm! bon appetit! 
we were also snapping tonnes of pix of bangyan doing the whackiest the poses. he loves the camera. :D go girl bangyan!   
  
we played blow wind blow after. i thought it was really inappropriate cause it was just after lunch and there was a ginormous tree sitting in the mid of the game area! cheers! one of my faves.. (sorry i just have to)

CENTURIONS POWERRRRR! moving on... ICT was probably the school i could relate to the most. alot of drawing and designing involved.. which is what i love. the graphic designs were impressive. but some of the pencil sketching i saw was.. bad. some good. but mostly bad. (sorry) we had an activity which involved us sketching our own 'character'. mine looked fierce (like moi). aly's was so cute.. she drew miss siew. meow. bangyan's was a cross between pikachu and snorlax (they are pokemons la, not childhood is it?). avalyn drew her usual cute dollie figues and paya lebar, drew an oval. i drew the fierce hair for her. rawr. next, BA. which was the most fun we had all day. the most.. memorable. disappointing. let's go through this thoroughly shall we? the BA students were, surprisingly, the loudest ones we had from all the schools. they were greeting us in 2 rows, one row against each side of the entrance way. and get this, all of them.. were fanning at us frantically as we walked down, WHHHHHHOOOOOOOing us at the same time. MAD I TELL YA, MAD! 2 gals were giving us a brief intro on BA. and soon.. we were divided into teams. challenge: desgin a stamp and the theme was BA goes international. and this is when...

:)_ *drooooolz. (ALY! ALY! YOU STAY AWAY). he was our group leader (group K) for the challenge. he really did have a knack for art (yeah right), colouring the spokes of the spore flyer rainbow colour. so cute so cute AHHH! we didnt win the best design (duh). but we were ruling the quiz section! 3 BA dudes (esp cutie) were feeding us the answers. and thanks to our fast standing up skills, we got 4 qns correct (i answered half of them!), earning us 4 bars of sweets. SWEET! everything went so fast.... and... and... I DIDN'T MANAGE TO SNAP A PIC OF HIM! OR EVEN GET HIS NAME. HURHURHUR.... NO NO NO! okay.. nicole.. control YOURSELF. cheers were next. i was especially hyper (cuz i just met my future husband and am very satisfied with him). mass dance was next. but thank heavens, i escaped that. I CANNOT DANCE I TELL YOU. damn stiff. i have to thank my uncle for providing me the perfect escape. 21st November 2008: Day 3 the last day of red camp. brace yourself for the river of tears! all tribes were settled at the first level of the convention center this time. we (falisha, haziqah and i) were the first hillgroovies there. alyssa and bangyan joined us a little later followed by avalyn and peili. the first school we visited today was SOE, school of engineering. stress i tell you, stress, all crammed into a single hour. led by cutie, Illmi, we were suppose to contruct a structure whereby a ping pong ball is allowed to roll slide down. the longer, the better. we were kinda convinced our 'pink mummy tower' was gonna be awesome and the 5 free movie tix were our's. all the other teams' towers had the ball rolling too fast (ngee ann drift), so Illmi said. however.. the pink mummy tower was getting too complex. the top portion was unstable with an inappropriate gradient. we were not sucessful! kinda upset judging by the amount of effort and pressure we had in that hour. we had fun though, right Illmi? :D lunch came next. breeks again! it was a slice pizza, 2 pieces of garlic bread and 2 pieces of chicken wings. the pasta from the previous day was way better. to my utter horrer.. we were suppose to the mass dance again! (OMF ARE YOU KIDDING ME?) alyssa and bangyan was trying their best to guide me through the steps. i still couldn't follow (thanks anw guys). whats worst? we were doing it over and over again. it was mortifying. but yeah, i survived. no worries! 
we also broke a singapore record at red camp! coolio. :D we were suppose to freeze for 1 minute in each tribe's signature pose (honestly, it was cake. one minute le). we were also presented videos dedicated to all red campers. it was quite a emotional moment for me. cause i really hate endings and goodbyes. :( to express our utmost gratitude, we said the thank you cheer to the SLs. and it is as if we were really off our rockers, the centurions formed a human train and traced the entire hall. we were also joined by the other tribes. part of the train ran up on to the stage. insanity (but the good kind). okay.... now now. for the best tribe.. . . . . . . there isn't any! it so happened that the judges thought we were all equally good. however, each tribe was prized one award.
centurions: the most enchanted tribe award (we're the pwetty sumos)
apaches: the dream girls award (drama siol)
ninjas: the madagascar award (aka, the wildest tribe)
vikings: the 007 award (the most bond-ed tribe. geddit? lame la) dinner was japanese (ninjas! control yourself). really good. alyssa and i shared the salmon and chicken. :D

guys; get your dancing shoes on and partaye! (kinda peeved. some who weren't here for the first 2 days just came on this day for the party) it was a real experience. haziqah, alyssa, falisha and i were up front. dj andrew chow pumped up the party with familiar pop tunes. (avalyn, peili and bangyan was missing the entire time!). i gotta say, alyssa looked as if she has been clubbing all her life with her awesome dance moves. ahemqianyiwaspumpingwithamalaydudemyeyesnearlypoppedoutahem. when we got out of the party, my legs were weary from the dancing, throat was screaming for water and ears were ringing so bad (the amps were just infront of us). ______ this concludes my post for the red camp. i will definitely miss this camp so so so much. the fun we had there was unbearably fabulously awesome. and yes alyssa, i would definitely absolutely love to attend it all over again and again. until we are all tired of it. (sjabs will strangle me) it was the best camp ever. i would like to thank... centurion SLs: adin, lynette, jaslyn, amar (no, not your gramps. he looked sexy in his flora bedsheet btw. HAHAHA), benedict (lovin the skirt, blueberry cheesecake!), faizi (AHAHHAHA), kryshelle (krishna), khairul, bernice hosts: matthew (can i say... you are really goodlooking. but my future husband better la sry), bernice (also our C SL. you are hilarious SLAM. esp in the C vid), roxanne and all red campers who made this camp an extreme sucess. screaming our lungs out in cheers and being enthusiastic. *sniffs. I LOVE RED CAMP 5, 2008! |
