  • Flashing Lights

Ok, so I kinda have an obsession for cities. Skyscrapers, people, sidewalks, parks, etc... I love it. This will most likely cause me to get a masters in community/urban planning, but I also wanna visit some of the major cities in the world, starting with the US first. So I look through photos at this website, skyscraperpage.com and I have basically been oohing and aahing over various locales and wanted to document the places I want to go. It's really fun to make lists! Here we go:

    1.NYC of course
    2. Chicago- Summertime Chi ahhhh, now throw your hands up in the sky!!!
    3. Atlanta- I have an affinity for southern cities which leads me to
    4. Birmingham- I know, really it never crossed my mind but it looks very urban which was a surprise to me
    5. Miami- I like tropical looking places, and cities on the water in general
    6. L.A- I feel obligated to list this oneeven thought it seems really similar to Houston with the driving thing, but there is much to see there
    7. San Francisco- the hills and the trolley things look so charming
    8. Sacramento- saw pictures at night it looked so bright and metro
    9. Seattle- where city and nature meet
    10. Dallas- our rivals to the north
    11. Phoenix- no reason why really, just always wanted to go?
    12. Vegas- b/c its Vegas I guess
    13. Greenville, SC- looks oh so inviting!
    14. St. Louis- I hear the Mississippi connection built a bridge between the looks of this here one and the NO15. D.C- Our nation’s capital, why the very thought of leaving it off the list…

That’s all I can think of now, no telling when I'll actually be able to visit as I wont be cakin anytime soon. But for now I have pics and an imagination! World version will be next, I already know common ones such as London, Paris, Tokyo, somewhere in India, Capetown, Toronto, but I have done less research in the area..

  • Amazing, I was just reading through this thing, and I looked back to my entry after Katrina and how I did not want to leave Tulane because I would feel like I was giving up or missing out on something. And its true. I feel like that city has got me, simply took me. I am so glad that I stayed there and will be able to go there for one last year. All of the people and places I would have missed! God definitely places you where he wants you.

  • It's a beautiful song.

Smokie Norful - I Need You Now

Not a second or another minute
Not an hour of another day
But at this moment with my arms outstretched
I need You to make a way
Lord as You’ve done so many times before
Through a window or an opened door
I stretch my hands to thee
Come rescue me, I need You right away.

I need You now, I need You now
I need You now, I need You now
Not another second or another minute
Not an hour of another day
But, Lord, I need You right away.

If I’ve never needed You before
    To show up and restore
All of the faith that I let slip
While I was yet searching the world for more
The truest friend I have indeed
You’re my best friend I know in need
I stretch my hands to thee
Come rescue me, I need You right away.

    The agony of being alone
The fear of doing things on my own
The tests and trials that come to make me strong
The feelings of guilt, hurt, shame and defeat
The waves of trials that beat upon me
But to know Lord, in You I’ve got victory.

  • I think I have a phobia of roaches. Im sitting at my computer clearly minding my own business while I am reading my book and I catch something moving out of the corner of my eye. Cue the huge roach, I go to get my spray, which I got cheap not one of the best things to buy cheap, and spray at, then it decides to HOP in my closet. So it was probably a flying one. I see on the other end and spray it, then it disappears in the abyss. I start to remove clothes from my closet, and spray in the general direction it was in. As I am removing my pants (from the closet) with my gloves and converse on I see it at the bottom of my closet. I spray it until it turns white yet it STILL moved. Then the rage came forth from my anger of feeling like a hostage in my own room and I beat it with a slipper, even though I couldnt really get at it because its in the track of my closet. Nonetheless, I placed 2 slippers on top of it and tomorrow I will ask someone to throw it away for me. Seriously, I can't pick it up.  I thank God he allowed me to kill it before I went to bed though.
