| 1. i love unseasonably cold weather. and big, fat, organic whole wheat pretzels. and green tea with mint. and hot showers. and halloween. 2. luke marron (after describing the very coffee and cigarettes-esque film he's planning to make): "my goal in life is to become a combination of andy warhol and ernest hemingway." i knew i was friends with this boy for a reason. 3. the soles of my cowboy boots need repairin'. 4. next semester, i'm taking a fiction writing class, a class called "dissent in america," and "continuity in community: poetry and art since 1950." yeah, about those core credits... 5. tomorrow night will be spent in the TECH center once again, as i compare, in essay form, a book i never finished reading and the movie apocalypse now. lots of sighs. 6. i can't wait until saturday and my trip to haverford to visit dave. 7. peter kosloski now has a large tattoo of the virgin mary on his forearm. 8. the best people-watching is at the bean cafe.

"excuse me, sir, but there's a skull in my coffee."
| well, i am quite proud of myself. today i wrote two essays for my honors intellectual heritage midterm, one on plato's ideal society, as described in the republic, and one on the problems with eve's blameworthiness in taking fruit from the tree of knowledge in the old testament of the bible. i finished both of them long before midnight, which is a huge feat for me. usually i'm up until two or three o'clock in the morning the night before an essay is due, chugging venti coffees and wringing my hands nervously, leaving tearful messages on dave's cell phone, wishing desperately that i could drop out of school and join the circus or some canadian indie rock band. not tonight, i guess. instead, i'll be scheduling classes and listening to sufjan stevens and reading mrs. dalloway.
kayla and i are going to be manson girls for halloween. how exciting.
