| hey guys! just wanted to check in and say hey! i hope everyone is good. we are all great here. i've been learning a lot! today we poured concrete on a roof, because they build houses on top of other buildings. we are adding an apartment on top of a church for the pastor and his family. i also spent 2 hours in the bank changing money. we are in an internet cafe now in town. we are in guadelupe which is a suburb of san jose, the capital of costa rica. we have just been shopping at the town square. i was pretty tame on spending money though. i only spent about 5,000 colones ($10). my spanish is getting pretty good. today, i learned "puelo usar el baño?" which means, "can i use the bathroom?" maybe tomorrow i'll get a little more advanced. yesterday we painted, filled in cracks in the bathroom wall, and started on a ceiling which we finished today. it's been good so far. we get up @ 6:30a.m. which is killing me, but i've also been going to bed at 9:30 or 10p.m. and yes, momma, believe it or not, i am always the first up and in the bathroom. we have been eating AMAZING food. the pastor's wife is cooking all meals for us. we've had hamburgers, stroganoff, chicken and potato stew over rice, sandwiches, and pancakes. all of it really delicious. and i was hoping to loose some weight this month! yeah right! we stay here at this place through the end of the week and then we go to alejuela about an hour from here. we are going into san jose this weekend to go to the market. i'm really excited about that! then, we stay in alejuela 2 weeks and come back here to guadelupe. ok, well, have a great day! know that you are loved! | | |
| ok, so can i just say that staying at home and vegging on friday nights
is absolutely amazing! i'm sitting in courtney, liz, and emmy's
living room. all i've done tonight is go to eat at taco bell with
morgs and jayme. i went to the pep rally at 8 and after that came
here. we've been hanging out, watching movies and playing online,
something i never get to do. i ordered a new pair of jeans at
oldnavy.com earlier. that was fun, but also kinda sad cause i had
to get some new ones cause the ones i have don't fit. oh
well. tomorrow is the tech vs. tulsa game and i'm really excited
about it! i hope our guys show up and do something. if
nothing else for the seniors. they need a good game! also,
we really need to go to a bowl game!
i've recently realized i really miss philly, while i am excited about
being here and what God is doing in my life, and i know i am supposed
to be here. i really miss it. one day i'll be back there, i
know.
ok, i'm gonna go cause it's about midnight and i have a long day tomorrow. word.

| ok, first let me just say WOW! i am in atlanta, GA right now for a conference called Catalyst. and can i just say that it is amazing! my world has been rocked on more than one occasion since we got here on tuesday. i have heard speakers like erwin mcmanus, andy stanley, brian mclaren, and john eldredge. i've worshipped with third day and other just as talented worship bands! it's been wonderful! it's so great to sit in a room with 8,500 other people, average joes, who happen to be in leadership ministry roles and worship our wonderful creator with them! it's great! it's also been great just to hang out with the staff, tony, dan, jodan, scott, and becky. sometimes i forget just how much i like them. we've had a lot of fun and laughed A LOT together! ok, i hope you all are doing wonderfully and can i just say that i am really excited that i am going to the auburn vs. la tech football game on saturday with a bunch of really cool girls! i can't wait! i want to leave you with something really cool that i heard today. "we should go to church a lot less and live the gospel a lot more!" how cool is that! ok, have a great day. know that i love you! | | |
| ok, ok, i know it's been a while since i posted. sorry! it's been crazy! it's my 5th week of interning. very much fun! it's definitely full time. i spend my days hanging out with students, calling students, writing letters to students, etc. it's wonderful though. i wouldn't change it for anything. one thing i have been learning is that i'm gonna have to change. that scares me, but i know that i'll be better for it later. if God wants to make me into His girl, then i'm gonna let Him.
one really fun thing lately has been football! i don't know how i've done without it for so long. the eagles have been doing great! tech isn't doing too bad, except for the miami slaughter. oh, and then we play 3 more top 25 schools in the next 3 weeks. but that's ok, cause one of them calls for a road trip to auburn. i'm excited!

| well, i know that i'm still girlinphilly, but now i'm not. but, here's the reasoning, my heart is still there. it's most definitely still there with the people and at the places! i miss it so much! but, i'm loving what i'm doing now. yesterday was my first day at the wesley foundation. i did a little work, hung out with some people, at some lunch, ya know! it was lots of fun! on my days off i did a lot of nothing, watched a lot of movies: Rocky I, II, III, barbershop, something's gotta give, 13 going on 30, honey, last samurai, bourne identity, sixteen candles, mona lisa smile, and my cousin vinny. i plan to make that list longer after i get off work today. i'm gonna be lazy until we leave for staff retreat on sunday. ok, i'm gonna go cause tony's being retarded and i need to take care of him! have a great day, even in the rain!
