| In which my life sucks.....Ok, let's ignore the fact that I haven't eaten anything but saltines and drunk clear broth for the last 3 days....let's ignore the fact that anything that clears my esophagus either a) comes back up or b) rockets through my system (cramping major organs painfully along the way) and well.....I'll stop there. The phrases I'm thinking of include "explosive" and "needing a shower and a mop afterward". Let's just ignore that for now....let's also ignore that my skin has decided to erupt digustingly (as though my pasty pallor and dark circles weren't loverly enough!), and that I have become my insomniac self again.....let's ignore that......let's just let my ovaries take over and decide we're going to have a little visit from aunt Flo 13 days after her last visit!!!
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!!!!!!!!
As though I'm not hurting enough in that area ("worst stomach flu strain in years" my NP says as she hands me a 'script for Phenergan and recommends Tucks pads at the drugstore), let's just throw in a shot of PMS and some cramps now!
*sigh*
I don't think I've ever been this sick. The only reason I went to the dr. today is that I was afraid I was becoming seriously dehydrated. Ever try to talk with NO saliva in your mouth? Yuck.
At least when I take the Phenergan, it makes me sleepy.
| Baby it's cold outside... Brrr!!! It was really cold today. One of the first actual "cold" days we've had this season. According to the super Nissan Altima I've been driving, it was 44 degrees at 3pm. Faith and I had to go to the store since I hadn't been in a few weeks. $260 later (my fridge/freezer/cupboards were BARE), we made our way home, bundled into our cozies and squishy warm socks....then hopped in my bed with our blankets (made from the same squishy yarn of the socks and watched Wall E. Oh I love this movie. It's cute but it also sends a great message. We enjoyed some quiet time and then she headed to bed.
Now I'm watching "I eat 33,000 calories a day" on TLC. I can't imagine....it's unreal how much these people eat in one day! One man eats in one meal the calories a normal man eats in TWO WEEKS. Good gravy....
| And so it was a hat day....I suppose I should explain my title . See, it all started with Twilight.....
Faith and I went to see Twilight today. Our local theater didn't have an matinee showings available, so we decided to head to Medford. The drawback is.....on long weekends, I don't tend to my hair other than washing.....so I had a serious head of unruly curls. Not the kind of lovely curls most girls have....no, mine were wild all over my head. Not enough body to create a cute updo, but too much to wear it down? So....the world got to see my almost-35 self in braids and Faith's cute ivory sweater hat. I will embarrass my almost-35 self with a pic even:

How funny that I caught my earring in motion. I felt funny wearing braids (at almost-35).....but honestly, I think I pulled it off pretty well. Once we got to Medford, we found the big theater there was also sold out - all showings of Twilight. So, we hit the mall. Faith has a serious addiction to Wet Seal. I broke down and bought her a sweater, cute boots, and a super-soft robe. She loves my fashion sense, thank god .
So tonight I'm watching Niagara. It's my favorite Marilyn Monroe movie....she is still sultry, but plays a conniving wife trying to kill her husband. All her other roles are the vacant ditzy blonde and I hate that. She seems more "real" in this movie.
Anyway....I'll post this for your viewing pleasure now....promise not to laugh (out loud )!
| Monday self-actualization.....
I have a volunteer who comes and helps out in my office a couple days a week. She's invaluable as she makes all the reminder calls for me and readies bulk mailings - two things I utterly hate to do.
Anyway....it's just her and I today in the office - everyone else is taking a week's vacation (smart people ). We were both working on mindless tasks, and were chatting as we worked. I realized that I really liked her and liked hearing what she had to say. She's an older lady, and we had butted heads a few times in the past. She now realizes the monumental volume of work that goes through our office and I now understand her a bit better. She's lived an interesting life to be sure

| Edit - ok, I am a dork. Apparently xanga changed the look and feel link to only affect your PRIVATE page!!! So to edit how the public sees your site, there's a whole 'nuther area you need to edit. You SHOULD be seeing a header with ferns and keys and locks and a book that says "my diary". Unless there's some magic place to change all that. Go me!
Aha - I figured it out. Only the FRONT page shows the new design changes....so if you come into my site using the "leave a comment" link, you won't see it! You have to go in through girlymac.net.
I thought I was going crazy! Oh wait, I'm already there . Going crazier maybe?
