| The 10 worst foodsOk, girls. First, we'll like to apologize for abandoning this site for a while. We were busy with exams and school work was piling up on us. But now we're back and we promise to update regularly. Although we didn't get 20 comments, we want to wish u girls a late Happy New Year by updating. Today's post is going to be on the 10 worst foods that you could ever eat. Here you are... 10. Cheese In one of our previous posts, fat-free cheese was listed as one of our low fat dairy foods but what you should know is that only small amounts of this is ok. Most regular cheeses have a high amount of fat and cholestorol. The best kinds are: cottage cheese, feta, skim mozallera, and skim ricotta. The cheese you should never go near is cream cheese. 9. S'mores cereal Yes, this cereal is number 9 on our countdown and the reason is because more than half the calories in this cereal are from sugar and it's basically like eating candy with milk on it. If you're on a diet, i suggest you try high fiber cereals like Raison Bran(the regular one) and Shredded Wheats (loads of fiber). Also try low calorie cereals like Special K. 8. Fast Food superburgers This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that it made it on our count-down. Each burger has about 600 calories and half of those calories are from fat. This is because of the dressing, cheese, and extra beef. If you can't get out of going to a fast food place, try ordering a salad or if you're craving bugers, a plain one. 7. Fettucino Alfredo and Sald dressings They are drenched in aa sea of oily fat. Most people order pastas beacause they think it's healthy but when you order it in fatty sauces like these, it destroys the benefits of it. This goes for regular salads too. When you pour fattening dresses on it, it's almost like having a burger at a fast food place. 6. Potato Chips Most regular potato chips contain a truck-load of salt and a lot of added fat. You might as well be eating butter. To avoid all the extra calories and fat, try eating baked chips instead. 5. Doughnuts This is one of the worst choices for breakfast. They are not only fried but they contain a lot of sugar and white flour that you should be cutting back on. They put your blood sugar out of balance and they don't make you full. Instead, have a slice of toast or make a low fat breakfast smoothie. 4. Granola Bars Granola is a high-fat, high-sugar cereal and many granola bars are just high calorie cookies! In order words, they are no healthier than a Milky Way or a Snicker bar. 3. Bacon This seems to be American's favorite when it comes to breakfast choices. But guess what? Bacon isn't really meat. As many as 95% of the calories in bacon come from animal fat. EWWW! and it's high in salt and full of cancer causing ingredients called nitrates and nitrites. Microwaved baon isn't any better. If you wanna clog you arteries then eat bacon for breakfast. 2. French Fries Another favorite of Americans. This contains 200 calories of fat alone when it's fried. When you get this from a fast food restaurant, you are basically signing your death certificate. It comes with the more dangerous saturated animal fat and tons of salt and can be up to 1000 calories per serving. and now, for the number 1, el numero uno, are you ready?.... 1. Soda Pop This includes all soft drinks whether it's carbonated or not, sugar sweetened or artificially sweetened. The bottom line- bad for you and terrible for your health. If you're craving something sweet, have a fruit juice instead or fruit flavored water instead. Well, there you have it. The ten worst foods you can ever eat. For those of you on a diet, i strongly suggest you stay as far away from these foods as you possibly can. My sis and I would like to thank all you girls who subscribed and encouraged us to update. You're the ones who keep this site running. Good Luck on reaching your New Years Resolutions. Don't forget to subscribe<---(click) and stay Glamorous Gorgeous Beautiful©

| Top Ten Healthiest foodsOnce again girls, you've done your part on supporting us. Thanx to all those who commented on the last post and subscibed. You're the ones who keep this site running. Since yesterday's post was on our top ten low calorie drinks, today's post is going to be on the Top Ten Healthiest Foods. These foods are known as super foods and should be included in your meals whether you're dieting or not. The countdown begins with... 10. Turkey Benefits: Turkey is a great source of lean protein. In fact, one serving of turkey provides you with more than half your body's daily protein requirement and has half the fat of beef and 30% fewer calories. Ways to include it in diet: Use in sandwiches and salads or as a substitute for beef in chilli. 9. Tomatoes Benefits: I, personally, hate tomatoes but they have a lot of nutrients. They are well known for their high vitamin C content but they're also rich in vitamin A, B vitamins, and calcium. And for those of you who are struggling to include enough fiber in your diet, tomatoes are loaded with them. Ways to include in diet: Sandwiches and soups. Add in dips to give it some color and nutrtion or just eat it raw like apples. 8. Spinach Benefits: Spinach, along with other dark leafy greens, are loaded with calcium, folic acid, vitamin K, and iron. Also rich in vitamin C and fiber. Ways to include in diet: Add to your lasagna ( or your parent's if you don't cook), veggie soup, and use as a substituion for lettuce in your sandwiches. 7. Salmon Benefits: Salmons are a good source of Omega 3 fatty acids ( good fats). Also rich in calcium, magnesium, B vitamins, and proteins. Ways to include in diet: Add to pasta salads. I hear that grilled salmons taste delicious so try it. This is one of the best protein foods. 6. Oats Benefits: It's a good source of fiber ( both insoluble and soluble). Helps reduce your cholestrol and can even prevent many cancers. Now, that's what i call a superfood! Ways to include in diet: Eat oatmeal for breakfast ( i love this), Bake oatmeal muffins or cookies(yum!), or even make your own granola bar. Use as toppings in yogurts and pudding. 5. Nuts Benefits: I know a lot of people who think of nuts as fatty foods but two kinds of nuts have great qualities. These nuts are walnuts and almonds and they're rich in Omega 3 fatty acids which help lower cholestorol, monosaturated fat ( good fat), vitamin E, and antioxidants. In order words, walnuts and almonds are very good for you =D Ways to include in diet: Mix in walnuts and almond to your cereal, add to your favorite salads, Use almond butter instead of peanut butter, Mix with other nuts to make a healthy snack, use as toppings in yogurt. 4. Garlic Benefits: A good source of selenium, vitamin C and B6, and manganese which help prevent disease and maintain good health. The allicin found in garlic helps prevent weight gain so it's great for weight-loss. Ways to include in diet: Be creative. You can add garlic to your scrambled eggs ( my mom does this and it tastes great.) 3. Citrus fruits(oranges, grapefruit, lemon, lime, e.t.c) Benefits: We all know or at least should know that citrus are rich in vitamin C. Another fact about them is that they contain citrus flavonoids which help prevent diseases ( perfect for those of you who hate being sick). All citrus fruits contain a good amount of fiber and are delicious (well, in my opinion) Ways to include in diet: You can add the peels to your tea, Sprinkle lemon zest in salads, Adding fresh sqeezed lemon juice to your fruit salads keep it from going bad, Eat them as whole or slice them up 2. Broccoli Benefits: Most people i know hate broccoli but i don't know why 'cause i myself like them. First of all, it helps prevent cancer especially of the breast, heart disease, and much more. It's high in vitamin C, calcium, and fiber (which is great for weight-loss) Ways to include in diet: Add to soups and stews, Eat it lightly steamed or raw ( i suggest it steamed), Add chpped brocolli to pasta salads. And now, your Number 1 healthiest food... 1. Berries( blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries) Benefits: This is perfect for those of you who have a sweet tooth and just half a cup of berries provide you with a lot of nutrients. They help lower cholestorol. Berries are rich in antioxidants which help prevent the cells in our body from damage and thus prevents disease and aging ( how about that girls?) Berries, especially strawberries, are an excellent source of vitamin C and soluble fiber and they're one of the few fruits that are low in carbs ( this is great for those who count carbs). Ways to include in diet: Use in smoothies, toss in salads, Sprinkle in yogurts or even icecream ( that way, you can still have youR nutrients while snacking), Try them in pancakes or waffles, Use them in any muffin recipe, Eat raw or sliced. Well, there they are. The top ten healthiest foods aka superfoods. Add them to your family's shopping lists and be sure to include them in your meals. Thanx once again to those who commented our last post. This time give us 20 comments and we'll update agin. Our next post is going to be on The Ten Foods You Should Never Eat. | Low Calorie drinks Wow. At this rate, i'll be updating almost everyday. Keep it up girlz. You're the ones that keep this site going. Ok, today's post is a continuation of yesterday only today, we'll talk about the Top Ten Low Calorie drinks. I'll be giving you the recipes to the 10 of some of my favorite low calorie drinks.
10: Iced Coffee My sister is crazy about this one. Blend together 2 tsp.(teaspoon) instant coffee, 1 package sugar substitute, 1/4 cup skim milk, and 1/4 cup crushed ice. Gives you a caffeine boost without the extra sugar and fat. 9: Iced Tea This is for those like me who prefer tea to coffee. Soak 1 tea-bag in 1.5 cups of boiling water for 5 minutes. After, refrigerate until cold. Serve over ice and you can drink this with lemon. 8: Veggie juice Blend 1 tomato, 1 peeled carrot, 1 celery stick, 1/4 cucumber, 1/4 red pepper, and 1/2 cup of baby spinach in a juicer. This is great for lunchtime and is packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. 7: Lemonade 1 cup cold water, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 1 package sugar substitute(try splenda), 1/2 cup crushed ice. Blend together for 30 seconds. Makes 1 tasty, low cal refreshing drink. <--this is what i drink instead of soda. : ) 6: Hot Chocolate(yum!) For the winter time. First, boil or microwave 1 cup of skim milk, stir in 1 heaping tbsp.(tablespoon) of cocoa and 1 package of sugar substitute and enjoy. 5: Hot Apple Cider You can ask your mom to make this for you. That's what i do anyways. First, peel and dice 2 apples of your choice. Put it in a juicer & blend. Simmer the apple juice in a sauce-pan with 1 cinnamon stick, 1 pinch of nutmeg, and a dash of rum. This is perfect for cool weather. 4: Summer Smoothie You need 1 cup of watermelon chunks, 1 cup strawberries, 1/2 cup crushed raspberries, and 1/4 cup crused ice. Blend together for about 30 seconds and enjoy. This is one way to get your daily servings of fruits and it's delicious. 3: Breakfast Smoothie For all those mornings when you're in a rush, all you have to do is blend 1/2 cup fat-free plain yogurt, 1/2 cup orange juice, 1/2 cup strawberries, 1/2 a banana, amd 1/4 cup of crushed ice for about 30 second and voila! you have a tasty low cal breakfast on the go. 2: Diet Coke =D yea, i just love diet coke so much and it's low cal (about 5 calories) so it just had to be on this list. Plus, for all of you who love sodas, this is about as close you can get without absorbing empty calories. and now, the moment you've all been waiting for...Number 1!!!! 1: Water Did that suprise you? Well, it shouldn't have. Water is the drink that has the lowest calories (00000) and it's essential for weighloss. It helps clear the skin, detoxify the body, and helps get rid of extra fat. You can drink water by itself or with a wedge of lemon or lime. You can also mix it with Crystal light to give it taste or just buy fruit flavored water such as Aquafina. All in all, water is the most refreshing drink a human could ever have and it has 000000 calories. Amazing! Well, there u have it, my top ten low calorie drinks. I strongly reccomend trying the smoothies and lemonade and drinking lots of water. And don't forget to go shopping for some diet coke. This time, give me 15 comments and we'll update again. | Low calorie DairyFirst, i wanna start off by thanking u girls on ur comments. What a great start! Someone requested a post on low calorie foods and i thought it was a good idea. Once you've made the decision to diet, you're halfway there. Now you have to try to meet all your daily nutrients need yet have a low calorie intake. You may be asking yourself, "what foods are low in calorie and taste good?" Well, as impossible as this may seem to most people of America ( they believe healthy food = disgusting food), there is such a thing. Today my main focus will be on Low calorie Dairy foods so it will be fairly short. Dairy Low fat cottage cheese - My sister and i love this because on average, a half cup of this is only 80 calories. When you top this off with jelly or jam which only adds an additional 25 - 50 calories(depending on the type), it makes a great tasting snack and can also be a healthy substitute for fattening dips and ranch dressings. Cottage cheese can be used as dips and used in salads. Another great thing about this food is that it can be topped with almost any other food (use healthy ones of course) Skim Milk/Soy Milk - Most people don't like the former but it's a great way to get in your daily needed calcium minus all the extra calories. A serving size of skim milk (1 cup) has 80 calories while soy milk has 90 calories. These are the perfect drinks for dry cereals, oatmeal, or just as a refreshing drink. Natural Yogurt - When i say natural yogurt, i mean unsweetened yogurt. If you have a sweet tooth, you might shrink back at this and say "unsweetened? eww..." Well, not so fast, i'm not done yet. Natural yogurt ( or unsweetened yogurt) only has 90 calories and if it's low fat or fat free, the calories are even smaller. A big difference compared to regular yogurt that's loaded with sugar and high fructose corn syrup and can be as much as 200 calories per cup.! You can eat yogurt topped with fresh or frozen fruit (prefferably fresh), raisons, dried fruits such as cranberries (yum!), and it can also be used as a topping in fruit salads and used in smoothies (low in calories, of course). Fat-free American Cheese - I don't really like American cheese but when i'm craving something a little on the salty side, i use this in my sandwiches. One slice is only 30 calories which is very low compared to those in regular cheese. Well, hope this helps the girl who requested it. Thanx to all those who commented on the last post. Now let's raise it a little. This time, give us 10 comments and we'll update again. We have a lot of other great tasting low calorie foods we want to share with you. Don't forget to comment and subscribe <---(click)Thanx once again and stay Glamorous Gorgeous Beautiful© | | |
| 1st Posthey girlies! well, this is our first post ever and we hope to get at least 5 comments. i know it doesn't sound like much but since we're new, we have to start small. Today's post is gonna be focusing on Simple steps to dieting. I will list the steps you need to take in order to follow your diet plan successfully . The first step you need to take is figuring out whether or or not you need to lose weight. You can do this by first calculating your BMI <---(click) to figure out where you fall. The BMI categories are as follows: Underweight = <18.5 Normal weight = 18.5-24.9 Overweight = 25-29.9 Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater If you find that you are underweight then there really isn't any need to lose weight but of course this is only a general idea of the weight you should be at for your height. It's not always accurate because although you might not be "overweight", you might be "overfat". Another way you can do this is by writing down at least 20 good reasons why you need to lose weight. If you find yourself having a hard time coming up with more than 10 reasons then you may not really need to lose weight. The second step is choosing a diet plan that works for you. There are so many diets to choose from and you might be asking yourself, "how do i choose?" Well, it's not as hard as it might seem. You simply have to choose a diet that you feel you can stick to for a long time. If you know you have a tendency to eat through-out the day, then you may want to choose a diet that lets you have several small meals a day. If you don't eat much meat, then you might try a vegan diet. If you want to eat little then a low calorie diet might be best for you. I love the 2468 diet because it helps kick back my metabolism and gets rid of the weight fast. Of course you have to be able to stick to it. The third step is actually starting your diet. First, don't try to say "I'll start it next week" or "I'll do it tomorrow". Instead, choose a specific date that you'll start it on. For example, " I'll start it on the 29th of this month". Try to start it on a day that won't be in conflict with your diet. I, personally, prefer starting my diets on a Monday because it's the beginning of the week and feels like a new beginning for me. After choosing a date, look forward to it and prepare for it (buy some running shoes, look up helpul tips, create an exercise plan, e.t.c) so that when the day comes, you won't have any excuse not to start your diet. The final step is sticking to your diet. This is where a lot of us have troubles and this is also the longest step (depending on how much you need to lose). We've already started our diet but we're not sure if we can stick it out. Well, what helps is making mini goals each week. For example, a goal for week one can be to stick to your eating plan. Another goal for the next week could be to include exercise during the week. You can also plan rewards for yourself after you've reached your mini goals. Never reward yourself with food, however. Instead, use new clothes, shoes, and other accessories as rewards. Divide your goal weight into mini goal weights. For example, if your current weight is let's say...140 and your goal weight is 115. You can divide it into intervals of 5lbs. Your first goal weight can be 135 then 130 then 125 then so on until you reach your final goal weight. Treat every small accomplishment as a big thing and make it a goal to get motivation each week (view pics of your favorite celebs or models, write downs your reasons for losing weight, have a weight loss buddy who will support you., e.t.c). Try your best to stick to your plans daily and when you finally reach your final goal weight and you're able to prance around in cute small clothings, you'll be glad you stuck to it. Well, good luck to you girlz and be sure to comment and subscribe. Remember, we only need 5 comments in order for you to be able to view our next post. Glamorous Gorgeous Beautiful© | | |
