| Can we say l.o.v.e Chicago again and again? One can never stop loving Chicago. It's Thanksgiving break right now, Drew, Mary, Alena, Asha & I decided to make a trip to Chicago. Our trip was filled with unending adventures from being pulled over by a cop (Officer Jackson) twice! to celebrating my birthday with my loving friends - of a surprise cake and a hand-painted Elvis Presley painting from Alena!! and getting crunk in a bar... i thought the trip was just perfect.. Until!!!! We were at Millenium Park as Alejandro wanted to see the bean. As we were walking further up, i noticed on the other side was a CNN Express bus parked at the corner. Curious, and being a journalism student ( where CNN is our Hollywood of excessive political pleasure), of course, I HAD to check it out. One of my ambitions was to work for CNN. Thinking it was just going to be an empty bus, we peered over the glass pane just to get a sneak peak of those computers, gazing with unending oohs and ahhs. Suddenly, the bus driver walked down and opened the door,
Bus Driver: Yes? How may I help you guys?
Drew & i: We are journalism students from University of Missouri and was just excited to see CNN. Do you think it's okay if we just take a peak inside?
Bus Driver: You know what, do you know reporter Ed Henry ( he covered Capitol Hill and broke the story of Bill Clinton's scandalous story with Monica Lewinsky). He is working right now, let me talk to him if he would see you guys?
*All of us just paused for awhile*
Me: Omg, yes. Please. Thank you! We'd appreciate it so much!
Soon after, the bus driver came back and invited us into the bus. There, we were greeted by Ed Henry!!!! He offered us chocolates and started showing us the bus. All i can say,
It. was. fucking. ahmazing.
Ed Henry: You know, we are actually just waiting for an hour before we go live. You guys could stick around if you want.
All of us: *gulps* Yes we would! Thanks!
So we stuck around and had conversations with him. It was fabulous.
After the live feed, Drew did an impersonation of McCain and Obama (which was hilarious). They were impressed and Ed Henry could not stop laughing. Drew gave him his website to check it out and naturally, he gave Henry his email add too.
Ed Henry: So who is the journalism student here?
Me: *Raise arms* Me. ( We had an earlier conversation bout where i'm from and such).
Ed Henry: Give me your email address.
*Gulp* what?
Me: Sure. Its..........
Oh my. Then we had our picture taken infront of the bus with his camera.
I will post all the pictures and videos soon. The trip has been gracious to me.
Anyway, I'm at Springfield now with tons of work to do and celebrating Thanksgiving with Mary's family. Will blog soon again so stay tune!
