  • It's Friday night and I don't know what to do
But I think I'll be alright if I hang with you
We could write a song. Just us two.
Somethin' catches my eye when you take off your boots

    Snow flakes on your socks
    Snow flakes on your socks

You're way crazy about Christmas songs
We could crank some Elvis and sing along
Or maybe watch a movie like King Kong
You're getting tired I just saw a yawn

    Snow flakes on your socks
    Snow flakes on your socks

We could stat a gigantic snow ball fight
We could have them runnin' for their lives
You played softball so I guess I better think twice
About nailing you right between the eyes

    Snow flakes on your socks
    Snow flakes on your socks

Everybody asks if we are going to get married
Frankly I find the idea a little bit scary
It's a huge responsibility to carry
But girl, I'll stick with you when things get hairy

    Snow flakes on your socks
    Snow flakes on your socks
    Snow flakes
    Snow flakes
    Snow flakes on your socks
    Snow flakes on your socks

    Hello World.
I have updates and such and so forth.

    Fall Break has started.
Such joy, such freedom, so much time with nothing to do
Well...actually I hope to get some work done on two research papers this break...
But for right now I'll pretend like I'm free

    I have a girlfriend.
    She is pretty much amazing.
This is the first really official relationship-type-thing for both us.
It's amazingly exciting and a little scary at the same time
I'm still figuring out what it means to be a boyfriend
But it's worth it because she's pretty special

I am comtemplating being a Spring Break Mission Trip Leader
but the time commitment they estimate is more than I think I should take
Since I haven't had much time to think about this until break,
I probably wouldn't have the time they might demand of me

I'm waiting for The Office to load because I missed it last Thursday
so I might as well update on my life.

    Things have been pretty good.
I've done a good job of dealing with stress the last few days
Instead of waiting until the last minute I've actually been proactive and
gotten some things done ahead of time.
My mom would be so proud of me.

Remember when I wrote a few weeks ago that I wasn't sure where I fit in after being gone a semester?
Well things are going much better now
I've seen many friends over the past two weeks and it has been pretty swell
Of course there are peeps I wish I could see more, but such is life

I don't want to divulge too much
But I met this one girl...
...and if you want to know more you'll just have to talk to me in person

I know this post sounds really happy,
but besides a little rain, the weather has been pretty nice too

I am the dear that panteth for the water.  I am the dry earth.
With eyes uplifted I wait for torrents from the firmament
I am the volcano waiting to errupt.  I am the horse biting at the bit.
This fire consuming me from the inside takes my whole will to restrain
I am the grass in the wind shivering from the force
With every abrupt gust I keel sideways
    I am the bandit.
Here to steal from the Sultans of Swing

    Are You a Dreamer?
    By Denison Witmer

The days have been just flying by. My weekdays are generally packed and before I know it the week is over and I need to get a head start over the weekend to be ready for next week. Its a vicious cycle. Time for things like friends, relaxing, and God seem to keep getting pushed to the margins in order to meet the deadlines and the schedules.

However, today was pretty much fantastic. I wore a eye patch and a pirate cap in honor of International Pirate Day. I got a free white balloon because it is International Peace Day. And wonder of wonders, today was humans-posing-as-mannequins day in downtown Holland. Definitely a triple threat of amazingness. Not to mention I played frisbee in the Pine Grove with some friends in the beautiful sunshine, barefoot on the lush green grass. As if that wasn't enough, I also fit in a game of racquetball.

Every time I might be falling for a girl, I feel... kinda guilty (if that is the right word) because I think I always picture myself as independent. Admitting desire means admitting incompleteness.

Tomorrow night I'm going with some guys to sleep at the beach. I can't wait.

I've been doing a terrible job at morning devotions. I really need to work on that.
