  • Karma Kicks

So, my husband for decades, yes decades has always had amazing luck with jobs, they generally pay well, and aren't demanding most of the time.

Like working at the Planetarium in Chicago. Which involved having to go on camping trips, for free, and parties that cost 1.5 million. Or like his last job, where he got to work from home 1-2 days a week, Fridays, and when he did work from home, it was generally making edits to his bosses novel (Which his boss got permission from the companies CEO to allow).

And then get paid extra out of his bosses pocket for doing that. WTF?

After 6 weeks of heavy job hunting, he started his first temp job. He's assigned there for 4 months, while someone is out for maternity leave. He texts me that she is a Jesus Freak. She has daily prayers up and "he is my light" crap everywhere. And she has to put a password on every single thing on the computer.

He doesn't believe in Jesus. Jesus annoys him. In believes in Bigfoot more then he believes in Jesus. How can you not love someone like that?

So he's going to have to leave all that stuff around, since he's just a temp.

Course, he's also waiting to hear back about a job at the Anti-Defamation League, which will pay more, give him all the jewish holidays off, and probably have other benefits. So Jesus may only be his light for a week.

    Grrrrr!

  • More Labor Day Fun

In keeping with the do more now that I live in New York, this morning I rode with the husband down to Central Park taking the Greenway to get to the park. The route is more scenic then the bike path in Chicago (Which is a great bike path).

    BR-1

The path for us starts at these stairs. It runs along the highway until it gets to the GW bridge.

    BR-2

    BR-03

For some reason, there is a greek structure along the way.

    BR-4

And part of a castle wall. The route down to go under the GW bridge has what we call, the Spiral. Here is a video of coasting down the Spiral.

    BR-5

    Underneath the Bridge.

    BR-6

Sometimes it's like a state park.

    BR-7

    Other times, it's very Urban.

    BR-8

Central Park. I could take a lot of pictures of the ride through CP, but they all would look the same. CP is very nice and I can see why you would want to ride here over the bike path, it's wide, it's fun and very scenic.
