Hello,
As you all know, the democratic nominating process is all but over and Senator Obama is the Presumptive nominee. Now that that is cleared up, he obviously has to start to search for his VP. I know everyone will shout "Hillary Clinton" but after this campaign, thats not going to happen. Plus, if he chose Senator Clinton then he would be getting a deputy
vice-president as well - Bill Clinton. We all know that he would be trouble, running around thinking he has any place advising people. Anyway, I have a few people in mind who I think would work well with Obama. My number one pick is Senator Joe Biden of Delaware. Why, you all ask. Well, Obama's main weakness in the eyes of the voters seems to be his apparent "inexperience" in foreign policy. It would, therefore, be good to have someone who has extensive experience in that field right? Look no further than Biden for that. He's been in office since 1973, is the chairman of the senate committee of foreign relations and Senate Committee on the Judiciary. He as introduced numerous pieces of legislation concerning Iraq, urging for all troops to get out within two years (only leaving residual forces) and dividing Iraq into three "states" (divided for the three islamic groups in Iraq) with Baghdad as the federal city and with a loose federated government.
My second-tier choice is Governor Bill Richardson. He would help Obama with Hispanic voters, where Obama does not do so well, and he also has a quite diverse CV: U.S. Representative, Ambassador to the United Nations, U.S. Secretary of Energy and Governor of New Mexico. He also chaired the 2004 Democratic national convention. Gov. Richardson would also help Senator Obama with foreign policy, but also with the United nations and with the energy crisis which America and indeed the rest of the world, faces.
Those are my two picks, let me know who you think would be good!
God is love,
Max
