Before I start the much-anticipated Killer Bunnies post, I would like to share with you the work of our friend Brandie, who made this ADORABLE nightlight for our friend Mike. Mike gave Brandie's kids a giant box of HeroClix, so she made this for him to as a thank-you gift.
It's shaped like Mike's cat, the famed Shadow, who is very, very large. Isn't it awesome???
And now for Killer Bunnies. Here is basically how you set up the game. Yes, it looks complicated. Yes, it is complicated. But you catch on pretty quickly and it is INSANELY fun, and VERY addictive. Some of my friends have chosen Killer Bunnies over sex. No, I am not kidding.

The basic gist of the game: If you've ever played Magic, it's like that except cool and without the annoying bullshit of having to make decks. You start with seven cards, placing any Kaballa Dolla or Zodiac cards to the side, and then drawing back up to seven cards accordingly. You then choose two cards that you would like to play (usually you'd put down at least one bunny now) and place them in front of you. These are your run cards.
During each round, you flip over one run card and do whatever it says, and then move your second run card into the top run position, choose a new card from the draw pile, and place a new card in the second run card space. Make sense?
Now let's complicate it even more! Oh the fun!

Here are some examples of the bunny cards. That first bunny is a triple specialty, which allows you to play two cards per round. If you have three bunnies of the same color or three of the same type (lumbering, congenial, gleeful, sinister), or one of these triple bunnies, you can play two cards per turn instead of one.
That second bunny has a special clover, which protects the bunny from weapons (a little bit anyway). Since this is a single clover, it means that a Level 10 weapon for instance is only a level 9 weapon now. Lowers the amount of any weapon by 1. There are other clovers in the deck that go up to 10 I think, and you can put as many clovers on a bunny as you want.
The third bunny has three clovers. All of the red bunnies have special abilities, this lumbering gives him three clovers.
The last bunny is a red sinister bunny. When a weapon hits him, if the weapon is unsuccessful (let's say it's a level 8 bunny and you roll a 12 on the 12-sided die, it would be unsuccessful), then the weapon is relaunched at its attacker (good times!).
The object of the game is to collect as many of these carrot cards as possible, and at the end you find out which one is the Magic Carrot. Whoever has the magic carrot wins. Now, you can only pick up carrot cards when you have a bunny in play. And you can only launch weapons against an opponent if you have a bunny in play.
The weapons are awesome, and so creative! I forgot to take pictures of the weapons, but I'll post some later. I think my favorite is the green jello with evil pineapple chunks, I think it's a level 2 weapon.

Once you have all of the booster decks (well, all for now anyway, there are two more coming out this year....can't wait!!!), you will have three markets. The first (the middle card) is Kaballa's Market. Here you can buy cabbage, water, and carrots.
The second market (the left card) is Rooney's Weapons Emporium. Here, you can purchase Defense cards (so you don't have to take a chance and roll the dice against a weapon) and discarded weapons.
Last, on the right, is Weil's Pawn Shop. Here you can buy pawns and dead bunnies (well, DISCARDED bunnies, to be PC).
This is the money (bunny money, if you will), Kaballa Dolla.

And here are the Defense Cards, Cabbage, and Water. Cabbage and Water are used whenever an opponent places a Feed the Bunny card on one of your bunnies. Then you have to purchase the amount of cabbage and water shown on the card. If you don't have enough money to buy the right amount of cabbage and water, or if the market is closed, then your bunny dies.
These are Zodiac cards, you'll draw these at random in the draw pile. You hold onto them throughout the game. Sometimes you'll get bonuses from Special cards if you have a certain Zodiac card, but the best part about them is that if you have the special Zodiac card (you find out which card is special at the end of the game) at the end of the game, then if you don't have any bunnies, you have the option of stealing someone else's bunnies so you can win.
Here are some examples of the Special cards. The Magic Fountain (top) allows you to pick a number and roll all the dice. If the number you chose shows up on the dice, you can pick up the same amount of dead bunnies as the amount of dice with your number.
The nice thing about Special cards, is once they are run through, you can set them aside and use them whenever you want.
HEMP allows you to roll when there's a weapon out, it can either double the weapon's power, make it ineffective, or kill all of someone's bunnies, fucked up shit!
Uriel's machine counteracts any Special card.
Here are some of the pawns. Their colors correspond to various cards in the deck, as well as the bunnies and the dice. So let's say you have the orange pawn. You can now re-roll the orange dice any time it's used, it counts as an orange bunny (so if you had two other orange bunnies out, you would have a triplet), and allows you to play the Magic Fountain (its corresponding card) twice!
Here's what it looks like all laid out. On the very left, you'll see a barrier card. These pop up in the draw pile every now and then, and allow weapons to bounce off of it and protect you. Of course, if you have one on either side of you, and someone puts, say, Cyber Bunny on one of your bunnies, it'll just keep going until all of your bunnies are dead (and that sucks).
The game ends when all of the carrot cards are gone. There are small cards that correspond to these large carrot cards that have been shuffled and set aside before the game. When the game is over, someone dramatically reads these small carrot cards, one at a time starting at the top of the pile. The last carrot card is the Magic Carrot, and whoever has that carrot wins the game!

The kitties find it just as exciting as we do!
I hope I did the game justice, there's a lot more to it but these are the basics. If you want more information, go to http://www.killerbunnies.com.
