| Hey hey hey guys!! This is a very happy Macey speaking to you all. Strictly speaking, I am supposed to always be happy. But I am REALLY happy right now. Summerschool has been successfully conquered. For now, anyway. It wasn't nearly as hard as I expected it to be, and I learned a lot, not only academically speaking. The NC trip was great fun, as always. I hiked, read, and just spent some great time with "the fam." I got my summer project done up there, too, so I am liberated for the next month from all formal schooling. Of course, I'll review mythology, French, and Spanish, but knowing I don't, technically, NEED to do these things will make them ever so much more enjoyable. Harry Potter, where to begin? No, I will not begin, because you all haven't finished. But expect a long post, perhaps in essay form, on my thoughts on the series as a whole. Don't worry, the quiz I give you on it will be multiple choice, with perhaps a small short-answer section. So, as all I plan to do for the next month is read, organize, and help around the house, with perhaps a bit of studying thrown in there, call me up whenever: I would love to do stuff with you guys! Have a great summer!! P.S. Does anyone out there understand the new layout system thing? | | |
| Hey, guys! I am officially 7/24 (but who's counting?) of the way through Spanish summer school, and all is well! Senora Calvo, whose last name, incidentally, means "bald" (I can't believe she told us that! She is really nice, though) printed out a sheet of everyone's current grades, and let us say that I am doing, comparatively, rather well! I am getting less sleep that I ever have in my life, but that's not so bad, because I've had basically unlimited sleep until now, and I am adjusting fast. School is definitely different, and I can't wait until the school year starts, because then I will get to CHANGE CLASSES rather than sit for five hours of Spanish. I think the senora is doing it well, though. So that is basically my life right now. The Wazis spent last weekend here which was so much fun!! Lauren and I stayed up until three in the morning Saturday night/Sunday morning just catching up, which was great and periodically hysterical. For everyone who guessed or cares, that was Josie who did that last post, redid my sight, and the quote on the top is from a night when we were having leftovers and one of the leftover sides was bread, which was, as all things good in this household are, devoured immediately. Josie asked for more bread, my mom replied there was none left. Then she said the quote at the top. She was about 6 at the time. I thought that story deserved explanation, but it looks a lot less funny typed. Hope you are all enjoying your summers, I can't wait for mine!! ================================================= Hahaha! I tried to put my Spanish textbook as "Currently Reading," but the search doesn't have it. I assure you my second choice is much more interesting to read, although I thought to have a textbook up there would be funny. All you ladies should come to the bible study we're having on the book at our house on Tuesday nights in June. The first was last night, and it was awesome! There were about SIXTY women in our home, which was great to see! Okay I promise I'm going now. | | |
| Hi everyone!!! I can't believe it's summer!!!!!!!!!!!!! to bad for goodayjane (aka macey). SUMMERSCHOOL @IB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (i looked for an evil laughing smiley, but to my dismay, couldn't find one. guess who! | | |
| Yikes!Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to inform you that this is my last post as a home-schooled student. C'est vrai, tomorrow I start summerschool, mais ce n'est pas francais! I think I will survive my first day, though, at least. Prayers would be greatly appreciated. Only slightly less importantly, I have started my Harry Potter marathon, and advise you all to do the same. This is the last one, after all! I love you guys, and hope to see lots of all of you this summer! | | |
| Hey guys!! I have had a good few weeks, how about you? Being able to take pleasure in the mundane, daily things of life is really great, though I'm still working on it. And when the opportunity for something fun presents itself, it makes it double the fun when you haven't been looking forward to it for months on end. I will stop trying to be sage now. Great times with cousins!!! It seems like we've done a lot together over the past month or so, and I hope it doesn't stop soon. For those of you who haven't attended one of our amazing foursquare tournaments yet, there is no time like the present. I am thinking about two weeks for our next one, I hope to see all of you there! Orientation for IB last Tuesday was strangely real, what have I gotten myself into?!? High school has always seemed like something in the very distant future, but I will be starting in less than a month! The musical "Grease" was put on by Bartow High School this weekend and JC was nice enough to cart me along to it. It was incredible! Also, an old gymnastic teacher's wedding yesterday night on the beach. And, of course, my star performance in "100% Chance of Rain" this evening. For those of you who weren't there, I stole the show. I was most amazing cloud/wavemaker in the ENTIRE production. The audience stood in awe and wonder for the whole six minutes I was on the stage. And, of course, I deigned to let my fellow stage hands bask in my glory, and we had a great time backstage. So that is about it. I'm about halfway through the Spanish book now, I'm sort of flying through it. How many times do you think I can go through the book in the next month? haha I'm not really stressing yet, though, I don't think I will too bad towards the end, either. Oh, and you guys better all come to Mayfair next weekend, I can't wait for that! Have a good week, everyone. | | |
