| http://www.llerrah.com/dreams.htm we need reminders every now and then. it's easy to forget. i needed this and thought someone out there might need it, too. we all need love and mercy...i've just been very sad and confused lately. God can bring good out of the bad. | | |
| The opposite of living in Spirit and truth, is living in flesh and deception. "So I say live by the Spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature." Galatians 5:16 Many of us live with darkness all around us. Whether it's where we work or our very own families. We wonder if we can ever make a difference in this world. Darkness is merely the absence of light. Whenever you are around, walking by the Spirit, you are light. Whether you think so or not, your light is shining and the darkness knows it. God gave us power when He sent us His Holy Spirit. We do have the power to dispel the darkness, we do not shrink back from it either. Greater is He who is within us than he that is in the world. We will never make a difference if we just accept the gift of salvation and then simply warm a church pew every Sunday morning. The Father called us to be light in this dark world. If we remain in Him, we can't help but let it show in our lives. People will know there is something different about us. We should never allow our relationship with Christ become nothing more than a "what can I get from You Lord?, or what can You do for me?" attitude. It should always be what it says in Ephesians 5:10..."find out what pleases the Lord." Find what pleases Him and then just do it! He has given us His Holy Spirit to walk in holiness, to give us power, and to be witnesses, light in a dark world. Our lives are not our own, we have been bought with a price. He gave everything for us, we should give nothing less. Lord, my life is like the alabaster jar talked about in the bible. I break it at Your feet, it's less than you deserve but it's all I have. Sometimes I think my days are so few and what can I even accomplish in such a short amount of time? But You can do more through me in a moment than I can try to do in a lifetime in my own strength. Thank You for Your unfailing love and for Your Spirit who gives me the strength and the power to accomplish what You have called me to. I do belong to You. People of God, we can do this thing. We can live a godly life in this world. We have struggles because we do not want to allow ourselves to let go of things that hinder us. Some things may be big, and some may be small, but either way it holds us back. Letting go is not bondage, it's wings, it's freedom! Trust the Lord with your life. He holds it in the palm of His hands. He is on your side and wants to see you walk in peace, joy, freedom, and blessings. I love you all Cathi

| TO ALL THE`WORRYWARTS INCLUDING ME:
The Peace-Of-Mind Game

READ: Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. —Psalm 23:1 About this cover In her down-to-earth book More Than Sparrows, Mary Welch tells of her discussion about worry with a group of teenagers. Although they were Christians, they were as worried as unbelievers about the common things of life. As she lovingly listened to them, an unusual idea came to her for a game they could play. It went like this:
Instead of saying, “I’m worried,” stop and say, “The Lord is my Shepherd.” Then add, “So I’m worried to death!” The students laughed at the absurdity of the idea, but they all promised to play this new “peace-of-mind” game.
Later, Mary received a phone call from a young woman who had been paralyzed by worry over an exam she had been dreading to take. She said, “I must tell you how the game helped me trust God today. As I froze with worry, I remembered to say, ‘The Lord is my Shepherd . . . so I’m afraid I’ll fail!’ Suddenly I felt the strangest peace of mind. I laughed at myself, then I took the exam—and I passed!”
Saying “The Lord is my Shepherd, and I am worried to death” is more than a mind game to point out the absurdity of worry. God can use this contradiction to bring us to a fuller trust in Him. —Joanie Yoder
Why worry when you can pray? Trust Jesus, He’ll be your stay; Don’t be a “doubting Thomas,” rest fully on His promise. Why worry when you can pray? —Peterson © Renewal 1977 Singspiration, Inc.
Worry is the interest you pay on borrowed trouble.

| Thank you Heather (wondering04 ) for the add. Another way of how children deal/react to molestation or rape is by showing no signs of emotion at all. It's a way to protect themselves and maybe even others as well (i.e. the person abusing them could've threatened them from telling anyone).
it's scary. you feel violated and even worthless at times. there's also guilt, too. kids are still kids. we don't always know from right and wrong immediately. the act of that kind of abuse is not as horrendous as it sounds when people first describe it. which is what makes it really SCARY. kids feel guilty because sometimes they don't pick up on how terrible/corrupt a situation they're in. and they feel guilty for not stopping the acts.
no one should have to feel this way. God doesn't want any of this to happen.
but it does happen. It bears witness to how crazy this world is...how much we all really just need help and His love.
and when we truly began to place trust in God, we will and can love and truly care for others. don't let the devil lie to you and make you think you have to stay a certain way forever. God made us for a reason. He has great plans for us. He knows what He wants us to be. and trust me, it's never a bad thing. He love us, He truly truly loves us.
And someone who can love us like God can, we know He's gonna have our best interest in mind...even when we don't see the big picture yet or understand...He has us and others in mind...always taking care of us, even when we least expect it. Jesus is always there, we just need to be responsive and teachable. be willing to learn. | | |
