Omfg, I know I haven't blogged in like the longest time but omg my dad was in the Chinese news and that's so completely awesome. (It's about his cancer research and!!!!)

http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2007-03/30/content_5917526.htm

SHANGHAI, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Using a patented laboratory device, Chinese scientists have for the first time grown cancer tumors outside the body which they say will lead to a new generation of cancer treatments.

Liu Hua, visiting professor with Zhongshan Hospital in Shanghai, says scientists have for years been able to grow cancer cells in lab but have never been able to reproduce a living cancer tumor.

Liu called the breakthrough a milestone in cancer research that will lead to the development of a new generation of cancer treatments using biological medicines that have virtually no side effects. Someday it may help scientists develop actual cancer vaccines.

Liu has been asked to deliver a paper to the American Association of Cancer Researchers in Los Angles in mid-April.

"I expect the paper will generate a lot of positive and interesting reaction," said Liu.

The doctor of internal medicine says he has shown tumor he has grown to scientists in Beijing and Shanghai.

"They are very excited about it. Some have worked 30 or 40 years and have never seen a tumor outside the body. They agree it's a milestone in cancer research."

Liu says drug companies and researchers often find the treatments they develop using a simple culture of cancer cells, don't work well on the tumor itself, which are awkward to test on patients or lab animals that have been cancer induced.

Now they will be able to work with a complete, three dimensional tumor and examine how it reacts, metastasize or grows when treated in different ways.

"Compared with conventional breeding systems we can continuously observe the behavior of a tumor. It is difficult to observe metastasis in a patient," Liu said.

Liu says working with an actual cancer tumor will make it possible to design patient-specific treatment regimens that are far less toxic than conventional treatments such a chemotherapy.

Yay I love my daddy. :D

Seriously though, that's so completely awesome.

And xanga's changed like woah, and I might start blogging again because I have absolutely nothing else to do. Mwah.

So, it's a pretty bad Christmas Eve for those I know:
My friend's dad (well, he's not really my friend, um.. the last time I saw him he was like 3 years younger than me and omg, he would NOT believe that 3 quarters made 75 cents.. anyways..) he had a heart attack in Cambodia, and

Grace's grandfather had a heart attack too. Pray for them? :]

I hope you're having a better Christmas Eve.

The new Harry Potter book is called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Isn't that what where his parent's died?
That's kinda a lame name, isn't it?
Well, considering I just read a whole newsource bashing on it, yeah.
But honestly, I feel kinda sorry for J.K. Rowling that because it is really popular, the overly cynical like to bash it because there are so many people who like it so much.
Me, I like it and all but I've read better books which don't get the same hype.
anyways, if you want, go to jkrowlings, click the eraser and you can get the title yourself *gasp* by randomly clicking or
(spoiler)
If you go to jkrowling.com, click on the eraser and you will be taken to a room you'll see a window, a door and a mirror. In the mirror, you'll see a hallway. Click on the farthest doorknob and look for the Christmas tree. They click on the center of the door next to the mirror and a wreath appears. Then click on the top of the mirror and you'll see a garland. Look for a cobweb next to the door. Click on it, and it will disappear. Now, look at the chimes in the window. Click on the second chime to the right, and hold it down. The chime will turn into the key, which opens the door. Click on the wrapped gift behind the door, then click on it again and figure out the title yourself by playing a game of hangman.
(not my walkthrough)

And I started downloading like only a month ago?
Jeez, when I get obssessed, I get... obssessed.
I gotta check teh size of that thing.
Plus I gotta clean out my desktop.

ERAGON AND POSSIBLY ELDEST SPOILERS BUT ERAGON MOVIE REVIEW.

So, I saw Eragon yesterday.
It was kind of really really sucky compared to the book.
And completely different.
They completely cut out Orrik, Elva, and alotta other people.
Basically, they did not spend enough time developing each character, so basically there are all these faces and you're like what the hell?
Horst gets less than one line and there is no wayyyy that guy could ever be a blacksmith. Katrina is not there at ALL, which is why it's like um then what is his motive for chasing after Razaac later? They can put that part in, but still.
AND OHMYGOD I COMPLETELY FORGOT.
HIS BACK ISN'T INJURED.
Which COMPLETELY destroys half of Eldest. And plus, he gets like one session of practice with Brom so you think he's a seriously horrid swordsman not to mention he's apparently a lot more magical.
They gedwai ignessa.. okay.. I don't know how to spell it, but that thing on the hand is like a little spiral- is it really s'pposed to be that way. I thought it was like a little paw thing. But whatever.

SAPHIRA IS THE CUTEST THING IN THE WHOLE MOVIE WHEN SHE WAS A BABY.
*coos*
Seriously, she's just adorable. I WANT ONE!

Everybody else is ugly though. Except maybe Murtagh if his hair isn't wet.
And Aria is wayyy too friendly with Eragon. Wasn't she pining over that other dead guy? But she's like smile smile hold hand hold hand lovelove.

Which is 1/4 of the story, BY THE WAY MONSIEUR MOVIE PRODUCERS.
They spent wayy too much money on like setting and costumes (some absolutely gaudy, by the way.)
I mean the village was sooo authentic but jeez they spent like ten minutes on it MAX.

Ohmygosh, I completely forgot- they didn't have Jeod. So I guess Roran and the others will wander around forever yayyyy.
roflmao

But seroiusly, it's a decent movie.. cg's pretty darn good. apparently, the razaac consist of little flying moth worm things and Durza kinda creepy and he barely just stabs Durza btw, and everysingle compliment I give it is turning into kind of a insult, so I'll stop now. So. yeah. :D
