My challenge: to be The Salvation Army of old: "The mob numbered thousands. They hooted, screamed, spit, cursed, threw refuse... The assaulted did not retaliate but continued to march forward, drums booming, flags flying, singing about the conquering Son of God. Bruised and bleeding, their uniforms muddied, torn and buttonless, the forces arrived at their fort shouting, 'Hallelujah!'" My inspiration: The Salvation Army in Malawi. The marches for miles over dusty roads, the crowds crushing in on the open airs, the soldiers makeshift uniforms of tan pants and epaulets pinned on white shirts... The hearts so on fire for God; the hearts that stole mine and never gave it back... -
