mind over matters

I find that writing becomes my escape, especially when no one is around to understand. I use it to channel all my emotions, to organize my thoughts so I can be at peace. People say that you're either someone who fights, or someone who runs. I've found that I'm the type of person who fights for what's really important, and I leave the rest. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, without Him, I wouldn't be who I am today. The roads He has lead me through have been painful, but I'm learning to see life through His eyes. Compassion and understanding comes at a high price. One can never truly understand the pain and suffering another is going through unless they have experienced it for themselves. I no longer see my goal in life to be happiness, but rather to be content with my circumstances and to love and serve others.
