"Alte Freunde" is German for "Old Friend". This blogring is a group of believers in Christ with ties to the Detroit area. We more or less know each other in real life. And I'm sure I don't need to remind you to use Christian Netiquette when commenting on each other's blogs! ;) If you are unfamiliar with netiquette, please check out this site: http://www.albion.com/netiquette/ Thanks, and have fun!

I'm an American from Detroit living in Romania with my wife and newly adopted son. I guess some people would say I am a pastor and maybe for some that is what I am . I like to say I'm here helping some great friends to start a church. But just so you know I'm not a fundamentalist Christian. I was for a time, but not any more. I'm just TRYING (key word) to be a regular guy and at the same time figure out what it really looks like to be a Christian and follow Jesus. Haven't figured it out yet, but I'm ok with that. I think The Big Guy is too. I'm having a lot of fun and most of the time I'm really enjoying life, other times not so much, but it's all good.

I'm contstantly learning. The best thing I've ever learned is that Jesus takes me, just as I am, and loves me, forgives me, and, then,.... lets me get to know who He is. (You thought I was gonna say "changes me", didn't ya.... nope! Getting to know the true God and Father, Creator of the universe and Lover of my soul does that all by itself.) I'm a homeschooling mom of 4. Love my family. Love God most. Finding His mercy in pain & His grace in trials. We don't live in a storybook... I will not deceive you and let you to think we don't have many faults and all too often chose our own selfish ways, but, that's never the end of the story, in this book. There's always hope. There's always an answer that we haven't seen yet, and, it always has everything to do with Father God.
