If love isn't blind it's at least horribly nearsighted... -

I'm a writer, mostly of SF & F short stories and novels. I've published a few articles in the entertainment industry and won a few poetry contests. I attend writing conferences and local writing workshops. I've been on the board and editor of the newsletter of 2 local writing groups, DFW Writers' Workshop (www.dfwrite.org) & North Texas Romance Writers (www.ntrwa.org) , and have helped found a vibrant Speculative Fiction workshop, North Texas Speculative Fiction Workshop (www.ntsfw.com). Here I post rough drafts and thoughts on writing. This blog is for drafting for "friends" to read. Comments are welcome :). -

i am the kind of person who will be open, talkative, and loud when i am with people i know and am comfortable with. i am a self-confessed introvert, i have never been the friendly type but i definitely can get along with everybody. however, i dont play social politics, and i wont jump through hoops to kiss a**. i wont be bothered if you dont like me coz im not put here to please everybody. i love challenges. i am goal and detail oriented. i love building/making dreams. one of the greatest feeling, for me, is that exhilaration and accomplishment of attaining something worthwhile. i love delegating tasks (i think i am born to do that) and i can be a slave driver. i work best under pressure, i can handle stress and i am currently perfecting the art of cramming. i have high times and low times which sometimes border depression and on occasion psychotic tendencies. i have lots of character flaws but thats fine because I AM A BEAUTIFUL WORK IN PROGRESS -

I am not really a poet or a writer. I have started writing poems and philosophies about life somewhere end of last year. No doubt I have written a number of articles but it just didn't seem right. What I wanted to write was something that would show me how to reconcile my deepest spiritual, authentic and creative longings with often overwhelming and conflicting commitments - to my parents, brother, invalid boyfriend, work in the office, work in the world, friends and community. I knew that I wasn't the only one in this world to feel this frazzled, depressed and worn to a raveling. I also certainly knew that I wasn't the only one in this world with answers. And the ironic truth was that I didn't ever know the questions. Always we ignore what our heart is telling us. Our authentic self has not abandoned us. Instead it has been waiting patiently for you to recognize and reconnect. -
