    I am a 45 year old cradle Catholic who loves Jesus and His Church. My life has been (and continues to be) profoundly influenced by the spirituality of St. Therese of Lisieux and her doctrine of "The Little Way". I was raised in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, to which I owe a great deal of gratitude, but have really been more of a "traditional" Catholic over the years who is now returning to the Charismatic Renewal. I am committed to true ecumenism. I have had CFIDS (chronic fatigue immune dysfunction syndrome) and fibromyalgia for nearly 29 years. I remain hopeful for a cure and/or a miracle from God. The research community worldwide has been doing a phenomenal job! My life has also been profoundly influenced by the life, words, music, and ministry of the late Rich Mullins. My life's ministry is being a "Barnabas Lady" (a daughter of encouragement) and in general trying to be a cricket on the hearth.

    When I'm not saving the world from litterbugs and organizing cleanup efforts around Cincinnati, I write and play music as a part of Blue Jordan Records, a local collective of musicians and songwriters. When I get a chance, I'm going to write my first book. It will be a memoir about my journey of reconciling my faith, gender, politics, sin, and humanity. Think: Anne Lamott meets David Sedaris meets Elisabeth Elliot. It will sell millions. My husband is a brilliant Philosophy/Theology geek, rehab construction manager at Habitat for Humanity, and pastor of a new downtown church. We hope to create a community a la L'Abri in the urban core of our city and re-populate the urban core of our city with Christians. Our first attempt at that came in late January of '09 in the form of a perfect baby boy--Israel Saint Paul.

    First and foremost, I am a follower of Jesus. I try my best to live peacefully and love unconditionally. I am a stay-at-home unschooling mama to FOUR kiddos. I have a sweet little baby boy, a 6-year old daughter, a 4-year old daughter, and a 13-year old step-daughter. Yep- I've got my hands full! I am married to an artist, so that keeps life around here interesting and beautiful. He is the most amazing guy- always supportive, loving, and nurturing, constantly challenging me to think more deeply and keep on growing further outside of the box. ;) He is truly my soul mate. I am a quiet, contemplative, deep person...an introvert...passionate about ALOT of things- so I spend most of my free time at home reading and studying, listening to music, and spending time with my family.
