I moved from New York to Ukraine in Dec 2001 as a missionary. My desire is to be used by God in any way He shows me. I serve as a pastor/teacher at a home church in Simferopol, Ukraine. I also enjoy writing songs and worshipping God. I live with my wife Olya and sons Jacob and Isaiah. Our church, River of Life, follows the distinctives of the Calvary Chapel movement. Worshipping God and studying God's word chapter by chapter are two of the main emphases of our fellowship. originally from Kentucky, USA/now teaching English at the best university in Korea (Keimyung University in Daegu)/married to a goddess I've known all my life but didn't meet until 7 yrs ago/I've cut tobacco, hauled hay, worked in plastics factories, stared at the wrong end of a pistol, worked as a journalist, lived in a log cabin, rode a Mongol pony up a narrow mountain trail in China, drunk beer with motorcyle outlaws, been on the perfect first date, held my mother's hand as she died, saved two people from drowning, resuscitated two puppies that had drowned, and I don't have anything interesting to write about/I haven't lied to you yet -

Nothing expands the mind, burnishes one's character, or wizens oneself more than being in the midst of a different culture: smack in the middle of an adventure. Having said all that, I can be rather boring and mundane at times prefering a good book to the smoky hallways of pulsating nightclubs. Was in NZ for 6 years, then moved to Aust for a year plus, was in London for 3 years and now I'm on my way back to Australia. Is this the end of my meandering? I doubt it... -

I don't like awkward silences. I like posing with inanimate objects (mostly statues) for photographs. I don't know which country to call "home". I have a big appetite. I refuse to buy an iPod (but I'd be happy to win one in some sort of raffle). I miss living in a place where I could sing at the top of my lungs and have no one hear me. I worry too much about what other people think about me. I think in Celcius and in metres. I would love to publish my own book one day. I like plays on words. Cats make me happy. Other than concerts, I don't like places that are so loud that you can't carry a conversation. I like cheesy songs with canned dances like the Macarena and YMCA. I don't like fake people. I can't carry a phone conversation if there's music on in the background at either end. I'll always have crushes on Paul Newman, Christopher Plummer, Chandler Bing, Scott Bakula, and Hugh Jackman. -
