    I am a great girl, just ask! My name is Misty but, my friends call me MD. I am 29 years old and I live in Minnesota!! I was born with Cerebral Palsy (CP) and I have significant lower extremity weakness and atrophy with plasticity requiring bilateral ankle AFOs and a walker for ambulation. I also use a wheelchair for mobility. I have felt that having this disability has been a learning experience and every day is a new challenge. Despite this being a challenge, I am still very active. I have a background in Child and Adult Care and Education from St. Cloud Technical College.

    I live in Texas with my husband, two children, four horses, two cats and five dogs (the hamsters have passed away since I started my blog on Xanga). On August 15, 2006, my younger sister, Bonnie, was killed instantly in a head-on car accident. Needless to say, this event has changed my life forever. I have struggled with how to cope for a very long time. Then, my father died on June 27, 2007, in a freak accident. I still can not get my mind around that one. There was so much left unresolved between us. But, life goes on and I was going along until January 22, 2008, when Alaura was nearly killed in a horrific riding accident that left her disfigured and in need of extensive and multiple surgeries. We are still in the process of having her face and eye rebuilt. I stay sane (relatively) by being super busy. Carting the kids to their various activities and participating in politics.
