    I'm 17, Curtis High holler. I like school, journalism, politics, philosophy, fine arts, poetry, French, intellectual endeavors. I am an unabashed lover of life's lovely subtleties. I turn the lights off when they've been left on. I write on both sides of the paper. I like Sunday mornings, when I sip tea and complete the New York Times Crossword. I manage my time obsessively: a moment unspent is a moment wasted in my eyes. As such, I read on the toilet, in the bath, on the bus, in school, and while eating. I plan ahead. Reason is my absolute, and I worship Ayn Rand. Of late, I have taken to digesting political polemics and philosophical epics in one fell gulp of knowledge. Some people choose to be humbled into insignificance by the enormity of the universe. I choose to be humbled into significance by the infinitesimally small carbon atoms that, when arranged in the perfect way, make me.
