New and different places have brought me to some of the most breathtaking views I've experienced in my life. Try the Swiss Alps and the Colorado Rockies and the eastern Adirondacks and California's Sierra Nevada. I was moved by St. Jacob's Cathedral in Innisbrook, Austria and impressed by the suicidal beauty of the top of Mt. Pilatus. I drove nearly 3000 miles from warm Murrieta, California to frigid Geneva, New York. Along the way, I saw the red sands of Utah, the romantic Rockies of Colorado, the humid marshes in the corridor of Nebraska, the cool metropolis of Chicago, the never ending forests and coal mines of Pennsylvania, and the militant pre-Republican Convention security of NYC. So I have two homes, one in California, and one in New York. I live a double life. Since I've come to college, I am now a "Californian," something I've always taken for granted but never thought about much. Here I am, surrounded by people from Boston, who don't pronounce their "r"s
