.twirling around does not make you a ballerina.
For all those serious ballet dancers out there who are sick of people who idiotically spin around and exclaim, "Look! I'm a ballerina too!" Or if you've ever smirked with disbelief at those people who complain about their sore feet because they don't know what real pain is.

I recently graduated from college with a BFA in Dance, emphasis in ballet. As soon as I graduated, I started putting my education to use by teaching ballet at a competitive dance studio in my hometown. I studied dance pedagogy and the Vaganova ballet syllabus in college, but teaching dance in commercial America goes way beyond anything you will find in a textbook. They say the best way to learn is to teach - I must be teaching a lot. -

I am a Christian who dances for God. I student teach dance classes, and I love it like crazy. I dance on pointe, and it's awesome! I also do modern dance, which is awesome too.
