Ahl As-Sunnah Wal-Jama'ah
"Hold on to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Rightly Guided Caliphs after me. Hold on to it firmly. And beware of heretical innovations (bida') because each heretical innovation (bid'ah) is a falsehood and each false- hood is a deviation from the right path." (Reported by Ahmad Ibn Hanbal Abu Dawud, at-Tirmidhi who said it is a good and sound hadith, and Ibn Majah)

The example of the person in this duniya, is like people who are on a ship, stopping at a nice island. The captain of the ship, tells the people, go to the island, look around and enjoy yourself, but don't become too enthralled with the island. A person will be in either of 3 groups. One group of people goes to the island, looks around, is impressed, but goes back to the ship right away, and their travel was easy. A second group, spent a little more time on the island, barely making it onto the boat because they brought back many things from the island. Because they brought back so many things to the boat, their travel was harder because of the extra baggage rocking the boat. The third group of people, will look at the island and love it so much that they will stay there and the boat will leave. Eventually, the island will be destroyed by typhoons and hurricanes and they will be left with nothing. ~ Imam Al Ghazali (RA) (transliterated by Imam Suhaib Webb) -

A journalist once asked Imam Hasan Al Banna, one of the Islamic Revivalists of the previous century: “Tell me who are you?” The Imam responded: “I am a tourist who is seeking the truth, and a human who is searching for the meaning of his humanity amongst people, and a citizen who wants dignity, freedom, stability, and a good life for his nation, in the shade of the Upright Islam. I am a selfless person who, as he found the secret for his existence, called out: ‘My prayers, my sacrifice, my living and my dieing are all devoted to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. He has no partner. This is what I have been commanded, and I am the first of Muslims’. This is who I am, who are you?”
