I am a college student studying for a second degree. I am also a proud American who believes it is possible to turn this country around. I am writing in the hope of raising awareness about social democracy and to clear up misconceptions on the right (conservatives) and center-right (liberals) about what the word "left" really means.

I am a newlywed and I work in two rural Catholic parishes as a catechetical leader. Most of all, I love God and learning more about Him. I am a true theology nerd!

"If you write for God you will reach many men and bring them joy. If you write for men - you may make some money and you may give someone and little joy and you may make noise in the world for a little while. If you write only for yourself you can read what you yourself have written and after ten minutes you will be so disgusted you will wish that you were dead." - Thomas Merton

My name is Rachel, I'm a 3rd year part time sociology major, social psychology minor. My goal is to get my Masters in Social Work after I get my degree. This Journal is just observations on everyday life in relation to sociology I got the idea from my Contemporary theory course when talking about Wright C. Mills " On Intellectual Craftsmanship" and how journaling is a good idea to finalize opinions and I thought I would give it a try.

First and foremost, I am a follower of Jesus. I try my best to live peacefully and love unconditionally. I am a stay-at-home unschooling mama to FOUR kiddos. I have a sweet little baby boy, a 6-year old daughter, a 4-year old daughter, and a 13-year old step-daughter. Yep- I've got my hands full! I am married to an artist, so that keeps life around here interesting and beautiful. He is the most amazing guy- always supportive, loving, and nurturing, constantly challenging me to think more deeply and keep on growing further outside of the box. ;) He is truly my soul mate. I am a quiet, contemplative, deep person...an introvert...passionate about ALOT of things- so I spend most of my free time at home reading and studying, listening to music, and spending time with my family.
