Anything else you want to tell us?
it doesn't take much to make me happy. my friend bought me a straw cowboy hat for $1 and it made my month. i love my friends, meeting new people, and making new friends. i am a people-person, but also a people-pleaser. i am infamous for my crazy-packed closet and intriguing xanga entries. i worked at elephant barrestaurant for 4 years and still miss working there to this day. i love eating sushi but prefer eating california rolls. i get very scared when i see people standing on the side of the road at night, and i also hate playdoh. and G is for God cuz he's gangsta! | | |

Sam Chen Small Groups Director
Alias:
S.
Others have called me Batman and Droopy.
What is your school status?
Graduated. Done!
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
Tell us a little about yourself:
I was born and raised in the South Bay. Then I went to college in the
middle of nowhere. While I was there, God recaptured my heart through a
campus ministry, Covenant Fellowship Church. He used that ministry to
mold and train me into a servant leader. Now I'm back, partnering with
God to expand His kingdom and to provide a venue for transformation.
Through my experiences, He ingrained in me a passion for college-aged
souls. I have the privilege of serving with an incredible staff team.
My life may seem boring, but there are so many stories to tell! I'd love
to meet up with you to tell you more about my life testimony, as well as
our ministry! I am shy on the outside, but am told that I'm crazy loud
in comfort zones.
Interests:
Working hard to be lazy. Spending a lot of time battling entropy!
Ministry to give guidance and advice. Good fellowship.
Driving my car. Riding my motorcycle.
Grillin and Chillin.
San Jose Sharks. Oakland Athletics.
Favorite artists:
I don't know much about music, but enjoy mixing and listening to
anything meaningful.
Top 3 favorite things of all times:
Salvation. Sleep. Speed.
If you had one super power, what would it be?
Telepathy. Communication is so important. It'd be great to be able to
give a moment to somebody else's mind to emulate all human senses and
have the same full experience. Video cameras just aren't good enough for
some amazing things!
How do you feel about clowns? How about when 12 of them come out of one car?
Why is everybody afraid of clowns? Pansies... just kidding! I'd like to
beat down the ones that make kids cry and scar them for life. Then I'll
take their little car and go ghost-ride around the Yay, turnin' tight ones!
Whats your favorite thing in your room?
Comfort. My room is my HQ. I run everything from my command post.

| FAQ .:> Small GroupsThis entry was originally published at GrX Pulse: Are You Alive?
"See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's
deceitfulness." (Hebrews 3:12-13)
What are small groups?
Small group families are comprised to about 10-15 people, and are a central part to Pulse. Small groups are a wonderful way to get to know fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. We focus on Life on Life, and in building healthy Biblical relationships. Our goal is to grow together as a body of Christ, and to foster an authentic community where we can experience God's work.
We also want to deepen our personal relationships with God. Through small group, we can have a safe environment to share praise stories, as well as struggles. Small group is also a great place to have accountability to ensure that we apply God's word in our daily lives.
We have launched small groups to different areas of the Bay Area with more coming soon!
1. Sunnyvale/Cupertino: 1 small group
2. San Jose (Milpitas area): 1 small group
3. Fremont: 1 small group
What do you guys do in small group?
Each small group meets weekly, and consists of Bible study, worship, and prayer. In addition, small groups are designed for great fellowship through games, interaction, and service/outreach to our community.
How can I join one?
If you have any interest in joining a small group, please use our Small Group Sign-Up Form. It is never too late to get plugged into a great community!
