Do you ever kind of step back from the world and think, "What is this
all for, or what does it all mean?" If you separate yourself from the
immediate, and try to look at the big picture, there can be a lot more
questions than that.
Why are we alive?
Were we created, and by what or who?
What are we living for?
What is worth living for?
Can I find happiness in this life, and how?
Do any of these questions really matter?
Sometimes
these questions can be uncomfortable ones to ask, the world is so out
of control, and with so many distractions. Yet ignorance is not always
bliss, but it does make the world go 'round. You need to ask yourself
these tough questions, and then most importantly, decide what to put
your hope in. Will it be in what this world has to offer? A world full
of temporary pleasure, and one that is steadily getting out of hand?
There
is good news! The greatest news you will ever hear! The news that we
did not evolve out of some kind of microorganism, or just 'come to be'
by chance, but that we have a God that created us! He has created us
in His image, and He has a plan for all of us. This answers some
questions, but there are still more. We were created, but why? Answer:
To glorify God and enjoy Him for eternity. Simple isn't it? The
Awesome God, King of Glory, the Righteous One, created us for this!
But then the question is, how do we do this? Well, we can't do it on
our own, because we are sinful creatures rebeling against God. We must
become new creatures in Him in order to be able to do this. The good
new is that He sent his only son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for
our sins that if we believe this, making Jesus our Lord and Savior, or
sins will be forgiven, becoming new creatures in Him, and will spend
eternity in heaven with Him when this short life is over. Praise God
for this! He didn't have to do this for us, but He did! Now we live
for Him, and for His glory. In Him we find happiness, peace, and joy!
He begins changing us from the inside out, making us more like Him.
Because I am a Christian, not because of what I have done, but what
Christ has done through me, I'm finding joy in the little things of
this life! I desire to serve my Creator, to serve others, and have it
all be for God's glory! I have a foundation to stand on now, a rock,
and a fortress. My security is in what Christ has done for me, and not
in my own strength or in what the world has to offer me. It's not too
good to be true! This is why we were created. Praise the Lord with
thanksgiving! Lift your voices with the angels in worshiping our kind
Father in heaven! Thank you Lord for providing the way, and I praise
you for it!
