Windmills of Your Mind

The Windmills of Your Mind
Music by Michel Legrand
Lyrics by Alan Bergman and Marilyn Bergman

Round
Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning
On an ever-spinning reel
Like a snowball down a mountain
Or a carnival balloon
Like a carousel thats turning
Running rings around the moon
Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes of its face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Like a tunnel that you follow
To a tunnel of its own
Down a hollow to a cavern
Where the sun has never shone
Like a door that keeps revolving
In a half-forgotten dream
Or the ripples from a pebble
Someone tosses in a stream
Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes of its face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Keys that jingle in your pocket
Words that jangle in your head
Why did summer go so quickly?
Was it something that you said?
Lovers walk along a shore
And leave their footprints in the sand
Is the sound of distant drumming
Just the fingers of your hand?
Pictures hanging in a hallway
And the fragment of a song
Half-remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong?
When you knew that it was over
You were suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the colour of her hair

Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning
On an ever-spinning reel
As the images unwind
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind.

All I Want for Christmas is You

All I Want For Christmas Is You

I don't want a lot for Christmas
There's just one thing I need
I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is...You

I don't want a lot for Christmas
There's just one thing I need
I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is you

Ooh baby
All the lights are shining
So brightly everywhere
And the sound of children's
Laughter fills the air
And everyone is singing
I hear those sleigh bells ringing
Santa won't you bring me the one I really need
Won't you please bring my baby to me...

Oh I don't want a lot for Christmas
This is all I'm asking for
I just want to see my baby
Standing right outside my door
Oh I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
Baby all I want for Christmas is...You

Life is Wonderful

当然不是因为要做新娘了,才说这句话的。伊拉克人民每天生活在水深火热之中,美国也是路有冻死骨,只是从每天的无常中找一点小快乐,就算跌了跟头,也对自己说一句," It takes some bad for satisfaction".

I talked with Jag at lunch time, and he said Caroline took another operation for her aggressively growing tumor. I was their match maker. It's so unfair to Caroline, I believe she loves life more than most of us, dancing, wine tasting, gardening, cooking... She spend so many years to get her phd degree and establish herself in her career, and find a nice guy like Jag, but now... she is struggling to get her health back, fighting with those greedy little cells in her brain. Jag said you would just understand what life is when you are losing it. Life is wonderful, it couldn't be more sadder than you are hearing this from a cancer patient. Life is wonderful, that is a kind of philosophy we have to believe otherwise I don't think I can stand this disaster world any day longer.

Life is Wonderful
by Jason Mraz

It takes a crane to build a crane
It takes two floors to make a story
It takes an egg to make a hen
It takes a hen to make an egg
There is no end to what I'm saying

It takes a thought to make a word
And it takes some words to make an action
And it takes some work to make it work
It takes some good to make it hurt
It takes some bad for satisfaction

Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la

It takes a night to make it dawn
And it takes a day to make you yawn brother
And it takes some old to make you young
It takes some cold to know the sun
It takes the one to have the other

And it takes no time to fall in love
But it takes you years to know what love is
And it takes some fears to make you trust
It takes those tears to make it rust
It takes the dust to have it polished

Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la

It is so...

It takes some silence to make sound
And it takes a loss before you found it
And it takes a road to go nowhere
It takes a toll to make you care
It takes a hole to make a mountain

Ah la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la life is meaningful
Ah la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la

It is so...wonderful...
It is so meaningful...

June Bride

Here comes the June Bride

Oh, they say when you marry in June,
You're a bride all your life.

And the bridegroom who marries in June
Gets a sweetheart for a wife.

Winter weddings can be gay
Like a Christmas holiday.

But the June bride hears the song
Of the spring that lasts all summer long.

By the light of the silvery moon
Home you ride, side by side

With the echo of Mendelssohn's tune
In your hearts as you ride

For they say when you marry in June,
You will always be a bride.

很喜欢这句,
Winter weddings can be gay,就象South Park里小胖子Cartman的口气。

Thought of the Day @ Forbes

"The secret of success is the consistency to pursue." -Harry F. Banks
