Wow, I can't believe it's been over a year since I've written. well i'm almost done w/ 2nd yr of med school, time really flew by.  I've finally grown more accustomed to the lifestyle of a medical student...there's no way to even begin to understand it unless you lived through it. today i had to practice the gyn exam, and a few weeks ago I had to do a male genital exam. the school hires actors and actresses for us to practice and teach us how to do those exams, and when i sit back and think about it, it's one of the most bizarre situations. I'm in an exam room w/ fellow classmates, and we take turns palpitating male and female genitalia. I've now seen and felt my first cervix, felt a prostate, stuck my finger in rectums...its almost a bit surreal.

but all in all, i feel privileged to have this education, it's insane how much i've crammed into my little brain, and there's definitely a ton more i'm fitting in next year.

well it's getting kinda late, bed time for me. gonna try to write more often so my med school years dont just slip by. =)

med school...i think it's taking a toll on me. i don't really remember what it feels like to be care free anymore. life is passing me by so fast, and so slow at the same time. i'm tired...=( tired of this constant worry and stress.

whew, its been a while since i've written. school started again, well i've already been back at school for over a week now. winter break was ok, i went to VA to visit my dad and brother, my mom came too. we went to FL for a week, and did the touristy stuff of disney world, sea world, and the beach etc. it was fun, but exhausting. i did come back with somewhat of a tan though. =) i visited josh from downstairs at his home cuz he lives an hr and half from blacksburg, VA. the rest of break, i studied a bit, and played w/ my brother alot. =)

school was so overwhelming as soon as we came back. i did pretty well on my physio exam, and i got about the class avg for the biochem exam. i'm just glad i didnt fail it cuz a third of the class failed it. =O i'm already starting to feel burnt out though cuz i think i just pushed myself to a whole new level of discpline and work ethics this past week or so. i thought the last exam was bad, and that the load can't get worse, it really does. =( i definitely worked so hard this week, and so i'm not too far behind. its still sooo overwhelming, especially when its my turn to do a presentation next monday on top of it all. =(

i did get to go snowboarding this past friday night though, and it was amazing. =D i can say i did my first rail. hehe, that was really awesome. i fell off the tall one and almost hit my head, but i did the smaller one. =) i also got new running shoes, and i'm super excited about doing some races. i'm planning to do a marathon with mike from downstairs, and me him and josh are planning to do the brooklyn half marathon. =) lets hope i can handle this, it's gonna be pretty tough.

3 or 4 months ago, josh put his and my name down in the lottery for david letterman tickets. and we found out this weekend we have tickets to the taping tomorrow. =D i'm really excited about that, we're heading down tomorrow for the show. the guests are tina fey and steve irwin the crocodile hunter's family. hehe the perks to living in NY. =D anyway, that should be a ton of fun, i can't wait.

well back to slaving away again. =(  my brain hurts

Bruce Springsteen
Secret Garden
She'll let you in her house If you come knockin' late at night
She'll let you in her mouth if the Words you say are right
If you pay the price She'll let you deep inside
But there's a secret garden she hides
She'll let you in her car To go drivin' round
She'll let you into the parts of herself That'll bring you down
She'll let you in her heart If you got a hammer and a vise
But into her secret garden, don't think twice You've gone a million miles
How far'd you get to that place where You can't remember and you can't forget
She'll lead you down a path There'll be tenderness in the air
She'll let you come just far enough So you know she's really there
She'll look at you and smile And her eyes will say She's got a secret garden
Where everything you want Where everything you need Will always stay a million miles away

hmm, nothing too interesting. my life is pretty boring, just filled with biochem pathways and physiology. =p and this weather is so disappointing. its mid december and we're getting 50 degree weather. grr! oh well, might as well, otherwise i'd be so distracted by the prospect of snowboarding. the stress of exams has hit the class once again, and all of us are tense and tired looking. most people find biochem boring, but the nerd that i am, i actually kinda find it interesting. i was actually really terrified of biochem cuz i was awful at organic chem. but this turns out to be much more interesting since i get to see what the body does from a while new perspective. biochem is really logical and i think the engineer side of me likes it.
