| The BIG Day!It's 11pm on Friday night and I'm sitting in an amazing Marriott suite. The rehearsal is over and Mike went back home for the night... so now I'm sitting here alone watching "Meet the Parents". And I actually had to pay for internet access because I couldn't just sit here and NOT blog... ya know? Plus I didn't want to leave here on a sour note.
So the craziness is over. I may have gone a bit off the deep end a few days ago, but now everything that needs to be done is done. And I'm still in denial about getting married, I think. Though I'm sure it will all hit me tomorrow... when I'm about to walk down the aisle. LOL.
One of the reasons why I was able to calm down a bit was because my director decided to give me off on Thursday and Friday without having to use vacation days. So I wasn't as stressed out as I would have been if I had to rush around more.
Sooo, now I'm off to have a nice, warm shower to hopefully get me sleepy.
See you on the other side!
| 4 DaysI'm starting to finally lose my cool. On the inside.
I mean there's just only so much a person can take on and not break down. And throwing PMS into the mix just fucks things up royally.
Last night I ALMOST cried over Mike's haircut. I just came right out and told him that it sucked and that I couldn't believe he went to SUPERCUTS for a wedding haircut!!!! I mean, he's never gone there before and I never THOUGHT that he'd choose NOW to try it out. (he usually just buzzes his hair, one length) Well, they fucked it up, completely. It looks like a kid took some clippers to it. And then I started backpedaling... trying not to sound like a heartless bitch. But the damage was done and then he was all pissed off about the haircut. And we were both pissed off about how this throws a wrench in our plans because there just isn't TIME in the next 4 days for him to fix it.
We resolved that he'd try to go to a nice place to get it cleaned up on Friday. Before he runs off to meet us at the rehearsal. And I just know that right now it's too short to look the way that I wanted it to look... like it did in our engagement pictures. And that upsets me. He made me feel even worse when I told him he could leave it if he liked it the way it was... and he just said, "I just don't want to disappoint you".
I mean he was getting the freaking haircut for ME to begin with.
UGH. Even now when I think about his hair... tears start to well up in my eyes.
Trust me, it's NOT the stupid haircut. I know this.
I'm just finally starting to feel the pressure, the stress and the insanity that a wedding involves. And throwing in a graduate class and PMS just doesn't make for a great week.
Oh yeah, and yesterday my brother started yelling about how my mother is "so fucking annoying" and how she only lives to "fucking annoy people". And he's NOT coming to my wedding. Even after I told him that I paid a lot of money for him to go and my mom bought him a NEW tailored suit to wear.
Fuck him. I'm glad he's not coming.
| Autumn BlissAutumn officially starts today. ROCK ON. I love autumn... and I'm so happy that the weather has been breezy, sunny and cool. Ahhhhh.
I just hope my wedding day is this nice.
Also love the crisp, fresh, local apples. The colorful mums and pumpkins sprouting up around the neighborhood. And let's not forget the awesome beer selections this time of year. Oktoberfest galore! Plus having a REAL German beer (Warsteiner, maybe) with dinner on a cool autumn day is just heaven to me.
I'm in the mood to bake. Just wish I had TIME to bake. Mike and I are drowning in DIY projects for the wedding.
Speaking of the wedding... here are pictures of what our centerpieces will look like (our florist created a sample):
Next weekend, we'll be on the hunt for 2 very large potted mums to set up at our ceremony. And I plan to dress up the terracotta pots with some of that raffia stuff.
12 DAYS!! | | |
| Bachelorette PartyI had my bachelorette party on Saturday night... at Lucky Cheng's for dinner and then Sutra for dancing:

The drinks were WAY too fruity for me at Lucky Cheng's... but I drank them anyway!

There was a condom dispenser at Sutra... awesome.

This was the end of the night... I was actually pretty tired of that boa!
And surprisingly, I didn't get drunk enough. I was buzzed... sure. But considering the amount of shots I did, I should've been wasted. Oh well. It was fun, but definitely not one of my best nights out. Didn't beat Boston!!!
And last night I got to hear some stories about Mike's bachelor weekend. He even told me that they were offered sex for $85 at some shady strip club outside of Montreal. Hah... just what every girl wants to hear!
19 days to go!!!!!!! | | |
| DYI Wedding STUFFLast night, I finally got around to printing out some trials of our wedding programs. I think we'll be going with this:
Front (ignore that piece of hair!):
Back:
But I may see if I can borrow one of my sister's corner punches that are more decorative. This looks a little too plain for me.
Opinions? Does the ribbon look okay? And I apologize for the crappy lighting... they do look a little nicer in person. The background paper is like a chocolate brown.
And here's what our favors will look like:
I'm still working on the tags that we'll have attached to them. Do you like the raffia???? I tried some silk ribbon but it just drooped and looked sad. So I thought raffia would give it a more rustic look that was more fitting for our autumn theme.
Man... DIY wedding projects are NOT easy! I agonized for weeks over the fonts, colors, papers and ribbons!

You like??? I went to unwrap the apple and found that the cellophane completely stuck to the apple. So, now I have to figure out what type of cellophane I need to use. ACK!!! Anyone know???
